GongTimer (without Micro-SD card)
1. FITTING IN THE BATTERIES
Remove the battery cover as illustrated on page 27 and insert 4 new AA size
batteries (Mignon/LR06). All 4 batteries should be fully charged. Then close the
battery compartment again.
The usage of rechargeable batteries is possible, but not recommended..
2. SETTING THE SESSION
1. Press the ON/OFF button to start the timer. This icon (duration of the
session) appears with flashing figures. Press the + and –buttons to select the
number of minutes you wish your session to last (max. 199 minutes).
2. Press the Menu button. This icon (intervals) appears with flashing figures.
Press the +and –buttons to select the number of minutes you wish to set the
intervals for (max. 60). E.g. If you select 12, a single chime will sound every 12
minutes.
If you prefer to have no interval chimes during your session, select 00.
3. Press the Menu button. This icon (chimes) appears with flashing figures.
Press the +and –buttons to select the number (01 to 04) corresponding to the
chime you wish to hear: 01 = dorje, 02 = bell, 03 = low-pitched gong, 04 =
medium-pitched gong. A sample of each chime can be heard with each
selection.
4. Press the Menu button. This icon (volume) appears with flashing figures.
Press the +and –buttons to select the number (01 to 10). A sample of the
selected volume can be heard with the chime you have just selected.

NOTE: You may change these selections by pressing the Menu button until you
reach the icon symbolizing the menu you wish to change.
3. START AND STOP THE SESSION
You are now ready to start the session. Press the button / (play)
The icon is now displayed on the screen as well as the total duration of your
session. Ten seconds later, three sounds will signal the beginning of your session.
The number of minutes displayed on the screen will decrease every minute. When
00 is displayed, another three sounds will signal the end of your session. Then the
timer will stop automatically.
4. DURING THE SESSION
1) Pause: To pause during the session, just press the / button. The icon will
start flashing.
When you are ready to resume, press the / button again. The icon will
stop flashing and the session will continue where it was stopped.
After 20 minutes pause the timer will stop automatically.
2) Volume: To change the volume, simply press the + button to turn the volume
up or the –button to turn it down.
3) Stopping the timer: Press the ON/OFF button until the screen goes blank.
Note: The latest settings will be automatically recorded. If you wish to use them
during your next session just turn on the Gong Timer, press the / button and
the session will start.

5. DISPLAY OF THE BATTERY ICON
When using disposable batteries, this symbol flashes when the batteries become
weaker. When it stops flashing, replace the batteries.
When using rechargeable batteries, this symbol is displayed relatively early, but
does not indicate the battery charge status. Please ignore.

GongTimer Plus (with Micro-SD card)
With the GongTimer Plus up to 10 own recordings can be played back on the
timer. It can be other gong sounds, guided meditations, songs etc. The recordings
can be as long or short as you wish; the limit is the memory capacity of the card.
1. RECORDING THE MICRO-SD CARD
The sounds you load onto your Micro-SD card must be available as mp3 files
encoded up to 192 kbps. In the case of files with a higher encoding, you can reduce
the rate with a converter (available free of charge on the Internet).
The files must be named as follows:
Track1, Track2, Track3 etc. to Track10 (maximum)
The word "Track" must begin with a capital letter. There must be no
space between word and number.
2. INSERTING THE MICRO SD CARD AND FITTING IN THE BATTERIES
Remove the battery cover as illustrated on page 27. Insert the Micro SD card into
the slot provided and push it in firmly. Now insert 4 new AA size batteries
(Mignon/LR06). All 4 batteries should be fully charged. Then close the battery
compartment. The usage of rechargeable batteries is possible, but not
recommended.
To remove the card, press the card again and it will be ejected by a spring.

3. SETTING THE SESSION
You may use any of the 4 chimes programmed in your timer (dorje, bell, low-
pitched or medium-pitched gong) or a recording that you will have loaded on your
micro SD card.
3.1 USING THE CHIMES PROGRAMMED IN YOUR TIMER
a) Press the ON /OFF button to start the timer. This icon (micro SD card)
appears with flashing figures (from 00 to 10). Set it at 00 with the +and –
buttons.
b) Press the Menu button. This icon (duration of the session) appears with
flashing figures. Press the +and –buttons to select the number of minutes
you wish your session to last (max. 199 minutes).
c) Press the Menu button. This icon (intervals) appears with flashing figures.
Press the +and –buttons to select the number of minutes you wish to set the
intervals for (max. 60). E.g. If you select 12, the selected sound will be
repeated every 12 minutes.
If you prefer to have no interval sounds during your session, select 00.
d) Press the Menu button. This icon (chimes) appears with flashing figures.

3.2USING A RECORDING FROM YOUR MICRO SD CARD
You have two options:
1) The recording is short (another type of sound, a mantra…) and you wish to hear
it at regular intervals.
2) The recording is quite long (a guided meditation, music, etc.).
1) For a short, repeated sound: Press the ON/OFF button to start the timer.
The icon (micro SD card) appears with flashing figures (from 00 to 10). Press
the +and –buttons to select the number of the track you wish to play and then
follow steps b) c) and e) above.
2) For a longer recording:
a. Press the ON/OFF button to start the timer. The icon (micro SD card)
appears with flashing figures (from 00 to 10). Press the +and –buttons to
select the number of the track you wish to play (the beginning of each track
can be heard for 2 minutes).
b. Press the Menu button. This icon (duration of the session) appears with
flashing figures. Select 00.
c. Press the Menu button. This icon (intervals) appears with flashing figures.
Select 00.
d. Press the Menu button. This icon (volume) appears with flashing figures.
Pressing the +and –buttons, select the number (01 to 10). A sample of the
volume can be heard with the selected sound track.

Note: You may change these parameters by pressing the Menu button until you
reach the icon symbolizing the setting you wish to change.
