WELCOME
Thank you for choosing S10.
S10 is an ethernet switch designed specifically for hi-fi.
Please have a few minutes for this manual before powering S10 on.

PLACEMENT

S10 needs a solid and stable surface to stand firmly, and four
boots should help keep it level. S10 does not need much air to
stay operational, but suffocating it is certainly a bad idea. Where
S10 is placed is not critical, but please keep it away from known
magnetic fields.

MAINS CONNECTION

Before powering on, please make sure that the voltage setting fits the AC outlet
voltage of your area. The AC voltage is set by a slide switch on the bottom of
S10
!115 : 100~120V ac
!230 : 220~240V ac

FUSES

Two fuses are mounted in a holder, located between the AC inlet and the power
switch. Use a pair of tweezers or the likes to press down and release the lock.
The holder will slide out. The inner one is in operation whereas the outer one is
a spare.
These fuses are 5 X 20 mm in size and rated for 1A, 250V AC. If replacement is
needed, please use fuses with the right specification.

!There are two SFP ports on the back panel.
!Both ports support 1000 or 100Mbps, auto-negotiated.

!There are 8 copper ports on the back panel.
!All ports support 1000, 100 or 10 Mbps, auto-negotiated.

!These copper ports can be individually enabled/disabled.
!The unused ports are highly recommended to be disabled (by
setting to ‘OFF’ one by one) to save power and reduce noises.
!Unconnected ports keep sending ‘fast link pulses’, which
supposedly speed up linkage but in effect generate noises.
!These ports are read only once during power-up. Power
cycling is needed to make the new settings effective.
!Because of the large power smoothing capacitors, it may take
a few seconds for S10 to turn off.

!There are two LEDs for each port (SFP and Copper):
!Amber on : 1000 Mbps
!Green and Amber on : 100Mbps
!Flashing : transmitting/receiving.
!These LEDs can be turned on/off by a switch on the bottom.
