With the juggernaut that is the Valjoux

7750 inside, the C7 Rapide Chronograph

Automatic was always going to be slightly

larger than its other Rapide cousins; not only

in size, but in personality.

While initial impressions may have you thinking the

Chronograph Automatic is a brutish muscle car of a

watch, inside it’s powered by a nely tuned engine,

the 7750 – one of the rst movements to be designed

by computer, and almost certainly the denitive

mechanical chronograph in the industry.

Our case is a staggering a piece of engineering – a

combination of marine-grade steel and aluminium,

Its four-piece design is inspired by construction in

Formula 1, which begins with a car’s central chassis

– the monocoque where the driver sits – before

additional bodywork is added around it. Two vintage

style pushers ank either side of its crosshatched

crown, their piston shape reminiscent of the immense

horsepower generated by high-performance engines

from F1 to Le Mans.

The C7 Rapide Chronograph Automatic also inherits

our new dial aesthetic, where double-sized numerals

and sunray subdials capture the extravagance of

motorsport within its dashboard-inspired design.

Not only is it obviously a motorsport watch, it’s

distinctively a Christopher Ward motorsport one,

and a turbo-charged addition to the Collection.

How to operate your C7 Rapide Chronograph Automatic

For a superior water resistance your crown is

of the screw-down type. The crown should sit

ush to the case (position

) in order to maintain

water resistance.

• First unscrew the crown anti-clockwise from the

case to position

for winding in power. Wind in

a clockwise direction to re-power the watch.

Your C7 Rapide Chronograph Automatic has a

maximum power reserve of 48 hours when fully

wound. Normal wearing will allow the rotor to

start re-powering the watch over time after

putting it on your wrist.

• For rapid date correction pull gently into position

and turn in a clockwise direction.

• Pull gently into position

for handsetting and

stopping of the second hand. For precise time

setting it is recommended to

pass beyond the desired minute and to set the

hand backwards.

PLEASE NOTE: Date correction should not be

carried out between 20.00 hr and 02.00 hr as

the watch gearing will already be aligning itself

to change the date.

You must always ensure the crown is fully

tightened before any use in water to prevent

moisture from entering the case.

Press push-button A to start timing.

PLEASE NOTE: Before starting the time, reset

the chronograph hands to their original position.

See the Reset section to set the counters

to zero.

To stop the timing, press push-button A once more

and read the 3 chronograph counters, for example:

2 hours /10 mins / 8 seconds.
