Follow these 4 steps to complete the basic system set-up.
1. Extending the FM antenna

2. Connecting the main unit to power
This system is designed to operate on DC 12V, 1,ooomA current.
Connecting this system to any other power supply could result in
damage to the unit which is not covered by your warranty.
NOTE: This is a safety feature to reduce the possibility of electrical shock.
You should have your outdated outlets changed by a qualied, licensed
electrician. Do not le the wide blade on the plug, or use an adapter to make
the plug t into your outlet. This defeats the safety feature and could expose
you to electrical shock.

3. Installing the battery into the remote
Insert one CR2025 battery into the
remote control observing the correct
(+) and (-) polarities as shown.
4. Installing batteries into the unit
Insert 8 size C 1.5V batteries into the battery compartment at the back of the
unit, observing the correct (+) and (-) polarities.
5. Power on the main unit
Press the STANDBY / button.
The main display briey shows “(0:00)”.
Refer to page 12 for setting the clock.

General controls
Most of the main functions of this system can be operated by the controls on the
front panel of the main unit, or by the buttons on the remote control handset. If
a specic function can only be operated by the remote handset, or by the front
panel controls, this will be clearly indicated in the instructions.
When operating this system with the remote control handset, make sure that
the IR (infrared) transmitter on the front of the remote handset is pointed at the
remote sensor on the front panel of the main unit.
The effective operating range of the remote control is approximately 4.5m (15
feet). Please note that bright sunlight or room lighting may interfere with the
remote control operation. If the remote is not operating properly, try reducing the
brightness of the room or moving closer to the main unit. If this does not solve
the problem, it may be time to change the battery in the remote control.

1. Volume controls
TO INCREASE OR DECREASE THE SYSTEM VOLUME
Press the or buttons on the remote control
or adjust using the volume control VOL-/VOL+
on the front panel.
The Volume Level indicator will appear on the display when you adjust
the volume level. The level indicator ranges from 00 (MIN) to 40 (MAX).
2. DBBS (Dynamic Bass Boost, on remote control only)
Press the DBBS button on the remote control to increase the bass
response “BASS” will appear at the right corner of the display.
Press again to cancel the Bass Boost function.
MUTE BUTTON (on remotrol control only)
Press the MUTE button on the remote control to shut off the speakers
temporarily.
The sound stops and the “MUTE” indicator
will show on the display.
Press the MUTE button again to cancel the mute function and restore
the sound. The “MUTE” indicator disappears. The mute function can also
be cancelled by pressing the or buttons.

Using the iPod Dock, you can play music from the iPod®through the unit’s
speakers and operate with the remote control. The unit comes with eight
removable dock adapters to ensure the proper t for your iPod®and to help
reduce stress on the connector when operating the iPod®.
When connecting an iPod® to this iPod Dock, please ensure
that the correct dock adapter is used.
FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO YOUR iPod®
1. Docking your iPod®
1. Refer to the compatability table on page 10, and select the correct
dock adapter for your iPod®.
2. Place the dock adapter in the dock and press into position.
The adapter will only t in one way.
3. Carefully align and gently insert the iPod® into the dock.
Remove any case or skin from the iPod® before attempting to dock.
4. Press the FUNCTION button on the main unit or on the remote control
to switch to iPod® mode.
5. Use the remote control to operate the iPod® as follows;
To enter the main menu Press the MENU button
To scroll Press the PRE+/PRE- button
To choose an item Press the OK button
Play or Pause a song Press the PLAY/PAUSE button
Adjust the volume Press the or button
Skip to the next song Press the NEXT button
Start a song over or play a
previous song
Press the previous button once to
start a song over, and press it twice to
play the previous song
To go back to previous menu Press the MENU button
