INSTALLATION PRECAUTION: ALWAYS FOLLOW THE NEC AND LOCAL ELECTRICAL CODES/REGULATIONS.

WARNING: MAXIMUM AMPLIFIER POWER IS 100 WATTS PER CHANNEL. USING HIGHER AMPLIFICATION POWER CAN CAUSE DAMANGE

TO VOLUME CONTROL OR SPEAKERS.

Before making any connections to the Speaker Volume Control, please note that the left (-L+) and right (-R+) channels are isolated from one another in

order to prevent instability when used with certain types of amplifiers that have a common ground (or a floating ground). If your amplifier has a common

ground between the left (-L+) and right (-R+) channels, a three wire system should be used between the amplifier and Speaker Volume Control. With a

three wire system, a jumper wire needs to be connected between the left (-L) and right (-R) grounds. If one of the grounds remains open there will be no

output on the ungrounded channel at any volume control setting.

Impedance Matching: A separate impedance matching module or speaker selector box is required when multiple volume controls are used with

one amplifier.

Installation Instructions:

1. Select location for mounting the Speaker Volume Control.

NOTE: The Speaker Volume Control has a higher than average depth and the use of a deep electrical box or low voltage mounting bracket is

recommended.

2. Strip and remove speaker wire insulation approximately 1/4" (.63 cm) to reveal bare wire at the ends. Twist any loose strands of the bare wire tightly

to make connections.

NOTE: When running wire up to 30’ (9.1 m), use at least 16 AWG speaker wire. When running wire longer than 30’ (9.1 M), use 14 AWG - 12 AWG

speaker wire.

3. Insert the wires from the amplifier into the “FROM AMP” positions of the Connector Block. Insert positive-to-positive and negative-to-negative. Use

small flat head screw driver to tighten screws to hold the speaker wire in place. Make sure there are no stray wire strands that might cause a short

circuit. The screw terminal of the Connector Block must engage the bare wire and not the speaker wire insulation in order to make a secure

connection.

4. Connect speaker wires to the “TO SPEAKER” positions of the Speaker Volume Control and tighten screws to hold in place.

5. Install the Speaker Volume Control in its predetermined location ensuring that it is facing upwards (TOP is marked). To avoid possibly damaging your

speakers, start with the Speaker Volume Control at the lowest volume position. Slowly raise the volume in order to verify operation.

PRECAUCIÓN DE INSTALACIÓN: SIEMPRE SIGUE EL CÓDIGO ELÉCTRICO NACIONAL Y LOS CÓDIGOS/NORMAS ELÉCTRICOS LOCALES.

ADVERTENCIA: LA POTENCIA MÁXIMA DEL AMPLIFICADOR ES DE 100 WATTS POR CANAL. SI USAS MAYOR AMPLIFICACIÓN PODRÍAS

PROVOCAR DAÑOS AL CONTROL DE VOLUMEN O A LOS ALTAVOCES.

Antes de realizar conexiones al Control de Volumen del Altavoz, ten en cuenta que los canales izquierdo (-L+) y derecho (-R+) están aislados entre sí

para evitar inestabilidad al usarlos con ciertos tipos de amplificadores que tienen una toma a tierra común (o una toma a tierra flotante). Si tu

amplificador tiene una toma a tierra común entre los canales izquierdo (-L+) y derecho (-R+), debes usar un sistema de tres cables entre el amplificador

y el control de volumen del altavoz. Con un sistema de tres cables, debes conectar un cable de conexión directa entre las tomas a tierra izquierda (-L) y

derecha (-R). Si una de las tomas a tierra permanece abierta no habrá salida al canal sin toma a tierra en cualquier configuración de control de

volumen.

Adaptación de Impedancias: Se requiere por separado un módulo o caja selectora de altavoz de adaptación de impedancias cuando se usan varios

controles de volumen con un amplificador.

Instrucciones de Instalación:

1. Selecciona la ubicación para montar el Control de Volumen del Altavoz.

NOTA: El Control de Volumen del Altavoz tiene una profundidad mayor a la promedio, por lo que se recomienda usar una caja eléctrica profunda o un

soporte de montaje de bajo voltaje.

2. Quita y retira aproximadamente 1/4" (0,63 cm) de aislamiento del cable del altavoz, para pelar cable en los extremos. Trenza con firmeza los

filamentos sueltos del cable desnudo para hacer conexiones.

NOTA: Cuando pases cables de hasta 30’ (9,1 m), usa al menos un cable de altavoz de 16 AWG. Cuando pases cables más largos de 30’ (9,1 M),

usa al menos un cable de altavoz de 14 AWG a 12 AWG.

3. Inserta los cables del amplificador en las posiciones “FROM AMP” (“DEL AMPLIFICADOR”) del Bloque Conector. Inserta positivo con positivo y

negativo con negativo. Usa el destornillador plano pequeño para apretar los tornillos y sostener el cable del altavoz en su lugar. Asegúrate de que no

haya filamentos sueltos que puedan provocar un cortocircuito. Para asegurar la conexión, la terminal del tornillo del Bloque Conector debe conectar

el cable desnudo y no el aislamiento del cable del altavoz.

4. Conecta los cables del altavoz a las posiciones “TO SPEAKER” (“AL ALTAVOZ”) del Control de Volumen del Altavoz y aprieta los tornillos para

mantenerlo en su lugar.

5. Instala el Control de Volumen del Altavoz en su lugar predeterminado, asegurándote de que esté hacia adelante (La parte superior "TOP" está

marcada). Para evitar un posible daño a los altavoces, comienza con el Control de Volumen del Altavoz en la posición más baja. Sube el

volumen lentamente para verificar si funcionan.
