• Read this manual completely and carefully before connecting to a gas supply
and operating this heater. Improper use of this heater can cause serious injury
or even death from burns, fire, explosion, and/or carbon monoxide poisoning.
• Conversion of this appliance to another gas type is not permitted.
3. GENERAL WARNINGS
• ALL PEOPLE ARE AFFECTED BY CARBON MONOXIDE. CARBON MONOXIDE IS
ODOURLESS AND POISONOUS.
• Early signs of carbon monoxide poisoning are similar to symptoms of the flu, such as
headaches, dizziness, and nausea. If you notice these symptoms, the heater may not be
working properly. Get fresh air immediately. Switch o the heater and disconnect the gas
supply. The heater must be serviced by an authorised person before being used again.
• Ensure proper installation and servicing of the heater. Follow the installation & operation
instructions provided with this product. The male bayonet is only to be inserted into an
certified approved female floor socket.
• The heater is only to be serviced by an authorised service technician.
• Never use Natural Gas in an appliance designed for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG
Propane).
• Never use LPG in an appliance designed for Natural Gas.
• Contact an authorised gas fitter to check all joints and connections for gas leaks.
• This heater must not be located where it could be subjected to physical damage.
• This heater must not be installed in a bathroom, bedroom, hallway, or recessed fireplace.
• Never install the heater in any of the following locations:
»Recreational vehicles, caravans or marine crafts.
»Where curtains, furniture, clothing or other combustible materials are less than
150cm from the front, 150cm from top or 50cm from sides of the heater.
»High-trac or drafty areas.
• This heater needs fresh air for ventilation to operate properly. This heater has an
Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) pilot light safety system. The ODS turns the heater o
automatically if there is not enough fresh air/oxygen available.
• Never use the heater in a confined space.
• If heater turns o by itself, do not relight until you provide fresh air. If heater continues to
turn o by itself, have the heater serviced by an authorised technician.
• Do not use the heater where:
»Flammable liquids or vapours are used or stored nearby.
»Dusty conditions exist.
»Never place any objects on the heater.
