Introduction
The DCen mini MkII from the DIGIMIC family is the compact central unit for your conference. The DCen
mini MkII controls all connected microphone consoles. It automatically configures the individual units and
distributes the audio signal. As soon as the units are connected to the DCen mini MkII, they are immediately
ready for use. The DCen mini MkII can be operated in standalone mode or remotely via software.
To operate the DCen mini MkII via computer you need the corresponding software. With
MicControl2, for example, you can control the participant microphones and manage the names.
With Digivote2, voting can be carried out. A connection to the conference management system
brählerOS is also possible.
The DCen mini MkII can be operated in standalone mode or controlled by computer. Connect a
computer for this purpose. The brählerOS MicControl software is required for computer-supported
operation.

To put the device into operation, connect it to the power
supply. Only use the supplied components (cable and
power supply unit) for this purpose.
Now connect the CMic delegate units.
The CMic delegate units should be connected with
shielded CAT5e network cable or better.
Never connect a network cable to the CMic port. This could damage the connected network
device
System startup
Before switching on, make sure that only CMic consoles are connected to the CMic port of the DCen mini
MkII. Press the power switch on the back of the unit. The 6 illuminated buttons on the control panel will
now light up brightly in sequence and then go out again. As soon as the animation is completed, the DCen
mini MkII is ready for operation.
The DCen mini MkII automatically detects all connected microphone units. To test, you should
press the microphone button once on all units - the microphone button and microphone ring light
up red. To switch off, press the microphone button again.

Operation
Volume
The volume of the microphone units is controlled by the volume buttons of the DCen mini MkII. The buttons
light up accordingly. Dark means quiet or off - bright means loud. Likewise, the level of the PA OUT socket
is changed here, so that the volume of a connected amplifier can also be controlled.
If you do not want to use the internal speakers of the microphone consoles, you can make this
setting in the free DCen ConfigTool software. The DCen mini MkII permanently stores the
selected setting for the relationship between internal volume and external PA output. If the
internal level is set to 0, Volume will only control the external PA level.
Microphone mode
The DCen mini MkII operates in three microphone modes: AUT3, VOX and AUTF. In addition, manual control
via PC software can be set externally via network.
The AUT3 operating mode is set by default. Press the VOX key to activate the voice-operated mode. Press
the FLOAT key to switch to AUTF mode. The keys light up accordingly.
To switch back to AUT3 mode, deselect VOX or Float by pressing again.
If another operating mode than one of the 3 mentioned is activated by the PC software, VOX and FLOAT
light up simultaneously,
AUT3 means that up to 3 microphone units can be active at the same time. Further requests or switch-on attempts are
rejected. The participants can switch their microphones on and off at any time.
VOX means voice-controlled switch-on for up to three simultaneously activated microphone units.
AUTFloat means that the first speaker is replaced by the last speaker as soon as the maximum possible number of
speakers is reached (FIFO = First In First Out).

USB recording
The DCen mini MkII has a USB 2.0 port for recording the audio signal on a USB stick. The port is compatible
with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 sticks. The connected USB stick must be formatted in the FAT32 file format and
must not exceed a capacity of 64GB.
The USB port is designed for USB sticks only. Do not connect USB hard drives or similar for
recording.
Connect a suitable USB stick to the USB port on the front panel. The
Record and Stop keys flash briefly while the USB stick is being
detected and set up. When the USB stick has been successfully
recognized, the STOP key lights up.
If the USB stick was not detected successfully, both buttons remain dark (no stick detected) or flash
alternately (there is an error). In this case, use another USB stick or reformat the stick in FAT32 file format.
Recording
To record, press the RECORD key. The STOP key goes out and the
RECORD key lights up.
Recording is now started regardless of whether a microphone is switched on or not. The recording
continues until the STOP button is pressed. The recording is in MP3 format with 128kbps. About 1MB per
minute will be recorded. The recorded files are stored in a subdirectory \Dxxxx, where xxxx corresponds to
the serial number of the DCen. The files themselves are given a sequential file name RECyyyy.MP3. The
number of the last recording is stored in the DCen and the next recording continues with the next number,
no matter on which USB stick. At REC99999.MP3 a carry over to REC00001.MP3 takes place and the
numbering starts from the beginning. Any existing files with the same name are overwritten.
By means of the software DCen ConfigTool the numbering can be set to a new start value.
End recording
To end the recording, press the STOP key. The RECORD and STOP keys flash briefly while the recording is
ended and closed. Afterwards, the STOP key signals the end of the recording. By pressing RECORD again,
a new recording with the next file number can be started.
Remove USB stick
If you want to remove the USB stick, first end a recording in progress. The STOP key lights up. Press the
STOP key again. The RECORD and STOP buttons will flash briefly while the USB flash drive is being
prepared for removal. When the unmount process is complete, RECORD and STOP will stop flashing and
the STOP button alone will show a soft flashing animation. The USB flash drive can now be removed.
To avoid data errors on the USB flash drive, you should never remove the USB flash drive before
the removal process is complete.

Switch off
Turn off the DCen mini MkII at the power switch or unplug the power cord when not in use for extended
periods of time.
To reduce potential background noise of the DCen mini MkII, the Line-IN input is deactivated by
default. If you need this for your conference, it can be activated via the "DCen ConfigTool"
software - Brähler Systems provides the software free of charge. The input now remains activated
until the next "Reset to factory settings".
Warnings
Use only suitable cables and plugs.
In case of malfunction, contact a technician, do not try to repair, unscrew or similar the DCen
mini MkII by yourself.
