A - SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1 - OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
• Read this entire manual before starting the
installation.
• Do not allow children to operate the product.
• This product is designed exclusively for indoor
use.
• This product is designed to work on a
smartphone with WIFI.
2 - DESCRIPTION
This product is a 3V DC photoelectric smoke
detector. It works with two AA alkaline batteries.
The photoelectric technology makes the smoke
detector more sensitive to the detection of slow-
smouldering res which generally produce thick,
black smoke, little heat and can smoulder for
hours before bursting into ames.
The smoke detector can be installed in every room
(except the bathroom), making sure that the alarm
signal can be heard by everyone in the house. For
minimum protection, you should install the smoke
detector in the hallway between living spaces and
sleeping areas.
Place the smoke detector as close as possible
to living rooms and make sure the alarm can be
heard from the bedrooms.
• Typical single-storey dwelling with recommended
protection:
Install a smoke detector on the ceiling of each
room and in the hallway outside each separate
sleeping area. If a hallway is more than 10 m
long, install a smoke detector at each end. If
there is a basement: install a smoke detector on
the ceiling of the basement and at the bottom of
the stairwell.
• Typical multi-storey dwelling with recommended
protection:
Install a smoke detector on the ceiling of each
room and in the hallway outside each separate
sleeping area. If a hallway is more than 10 m
long, install a smoke detector at each end.
Install a smoke detector at the top of the
stairwell and on each oor.
3 - IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Important safety information:
1: The test button accurately tests the functions of
the smoke detector. Do not use any other test
method. Test the smoke detector once a week
to make sure it is working properly.
2: Do not remove or disconnect the battery. This
would remove your protection.
3: Observe and follow all electrical instructions in
the building code for installation.
4: This smoke detector is designed for indoor use
only. In buildings, each apartment must have its
own smoke detector.
5: Install a smoke detector in each room and on
each oor of the house. Smoke may not reach
the smoke detector for many reasons. For
example, if a re breaks out in a remote part
of the house, on another level, in a chimney,
wall, roof or on the other side of a closed door.
A smoke detector cannot detect a re quickly,
except in the area or room where it is installed.
6: There may be circumstances where a household
member may not hear the alarm (too much
noise outside or inside, use of drugs or alcohol,
hearing-impaired, etc.). If you suspect that this
smoke detector may not alert a household
member, install specialised smoke detectors.
Note: if a household member is hard of
hearing, install special smoke detectors
with lights or vibrating devices to alert the
occupants.
7: Smoke detectors can only trigger their alarms
when they detect smoke or combustion particles
in the air. They do not detect heat, a ame or
gas leak. This smoke detector is designed to
alert you when a re breaks out. However, some
res are rapid, explosive or intentional, while
others are caused by negligence or safety risks.
In this context, smoke may not trigger the alarm
quickly enough to ensure a safe escape.
8: Smoke detectors have limitations. This smoke
detector is not foolproof and is not guaranteed
to protect lives or property
from re. Smoke alarms are not a substitute for
insurance.
Do not install smoke detectors in the following
locations:
1: Near appliances or areas where normal
combustion occurs regularly (kitchens, hot
water, radiators, etc.).
2: In very humid areas, such as bathrooms or
areas near dishwashers or washing machines.
