General information

Safety signal words
The safety signal words Danger, Warning, Caution, and Notice have the following meanings:
DANGER DANGER indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or se-
rious injury.
WARNING WARNING indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or
serious injury.
CAUTION CAUTION, used with the safety alert symbol, indicates a hazardous situation which, if
not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury.
NOTICE NOTICE is used to address practices not related to personal injury.
Warranty
■Product warranty will expire 12 months after the product is first taken into use, but will in any case ex-
pire at the latest 13 months after delivery.
■Normal wear and tear on parts is not included within the warranty.
■Normal wear and tear is that which requires a part change or other adjustment/overhaul during
standard tools maintenance typical for that period (expressed in time, operation hours or other-
wise).
■The product warranty relies on the correct use, maintenance, and repair of the tool and its component
parts.
■Damage to parts that occurs as a result of inadequate maintenance or performed by parties other
than Atlas Copco or their Certified Service Partners during the warranty period is not covered by the
warranty.
■To avoid damage or destruction of tool parts, service the tool according to the recommended mainte-
nance schedules and follow the correct instructions.
■Warranty repairs are only performed in Atlas Copco workshops or by Certified Service Partners.
Atlas Copco offers extended warranty and state of the art preventive maintenance through its ToolCover
contracts. For further information contact your local Service representative.
For electrical motors:
■Warranty will only apply when the electric motor has not been opened.

Installation requirements
Compressed air connection
WARNING Risk of severe injury
Air under pressure can cause injury.
►Always shut off the air supply when not in use or before any adjustments.
►Drain the hose of air pressure and disconnect the tool from air supply when not in use or before
any adjustments.
►Always use the correct hose size and air pressure for the tool.
WARNING Compressed Air
High air pressure can cause severe damage and bodily injury.
►Do not exceed maximum air pressure.
►Make sure that there are no damaged or loose hoses or fittings.
Make sure that the hose and couplings are clean and free from dust before connecting to the tool.

Wrong installation and flow direction are potentially hazardous.
►Install filters, regulators, and lubricators in vertical position only.
►Adhere to the flow direction marked on each module.
■Inlet: 1 (IN)
■Outlet: 2 (OUT)
Assembling the coupling kit
If single modules are assembled into combinations, coupling kits must be used between the individual
modules.
To assemble a coupling kit:
1. Insert the sealing ring.

2. Place the modules on the sides.
3. Push the two parts of the coupling kit together.
4. Tighten the two screws manually. Use maximum tightening torque depending on the model, as fol-
lows:
■MINI: 0.5 Nm (4.4 in.lbs)
■MIDI: 2.5 Nm (22 in.lbs
■MAXI: 3.0 Nm (26.6 in.lbs)
Mounting the wall bracket
To mount the wall bracket:
1. Insert the sealing ring.
2. Place the wall bracket onto the side of the module.
3. Push on the coupling element from the front.

4. Tighten the two screws. Use maximum tightening torque depending on the model, as follows:
■MINI: 0.5 Nm (4.4 in.lbs)
■MIDI: 2.5 Nm (22 in.lbs
■MAXI: 3.0 Nm (26.6 in.lbs)
Installing the mounting plate and control panel nut
1. Guide the module (pressure regulator or filter pressure regulator) through the hole of the mounting
plate.
2. Guide the control panel nut over the setting knob.
3. Tighten the control panel nut to a maximum tightening torque depending on the model, as follows:
■MINI: 8 Nm (70.8 in.lbs)
■MIDI: 10 Nm (88.5 in.lbs)
■MAXI: 10 Nm (88.5 in.lbs)

Mounting the gauge
To mount the gauge:
1. Turn the gauge into the gauge thread, using a size 14 open-end wrench. Turn until the seal has been
completely screwed onto the thread.
2. Align the manometer by turning it clockwise or counterclockwise up to ¾ of a turn. Maximum screw-
ing-in torque: 8 Nm (71 in.lbs).

Operating instructions
Setting the pressure
To set the pressure:
1. Pull the cap upwards.
2. Turn the cap.
3. Press the cap downwards. The pressure is now set.
Locking the pressure regulator valve
To prevent unauthorized changes in pressure setting, the setting cap of the pressure regulator valve can
be secured with a lock.
To lock the pressure regulator valve:
1. Press the cap down.
2. Turn the upper wheel of the cap to the locked position. The safety hooks will extend.
3. Hang a lock onto one of the hooks and close.
