Design and function
The UNO design with vertical flue gas tubes is simple and efficient. In spite of the
small dimensions the boiler can produce up to 20 kW heating effect with an
efficiency of approx. 90%.
The integrated battery of copper gives a large quantity of hot water without risk of
legionella bacteria.
The boiler is equipped with a silent compressor that stores pressure air in a tank
under the upper panel. The pressure air is released through a nozzle, which cleans
the burner pipe.
The tubes are automatically cleaned by a pneumatic cylinder, which lifts and drops
the turbulators each time the burner stops, or at least each 3rd hour. An ash box of
stainless steel is placed in the ash space under the combustion chamber.
The control panel is equipped with a thermometer
for the boiler temperature, a hydrometer for the water pressure and a thermostat
knob to set the boiler water temperature during electrial operation.
The heating cartridge can also be disconnected by the switch on the panel.
Important
• Check that the boiler and the heating system are filled with water and ventilated
before initiating combustion.
• Installation is to be carried out by authorizied heating and electrial technicians only.
• Burner operation: Set the thermostat to switch on the heating cartridge in case
of unexpected burner break-down.
• The threaded pipe, included in the delivery, shall be mounted on the return side
of the shunt valve.
• The boiler shall be electrically connected by an all-pole switch with min. 3 mm
breaker gap.

Installation
The panel plates can be removed to avoid damage, e.g. when transporting the
boiler. Follow the steps described below after having removed the packing material.
1. Remove the burner
a) Open the front doors by pushing the upper edge and then pull them straight out.
b) Loosen the connecting socket on the left side of the burner.
c) Loosen the socket at the left side above the burner.
d) Loosen the silver coloured hose from the connection above the burner by
pushing the bottom edge of the connection nipple upwards and then pull the
hose downwards.
e) Pull the levers outwards and remove the door with the burner.
2. Remove the top plate
a) Four screws at the rear edge.
b) Two screws at the front/bottom edge; accessable behind the front doors.
c) Lift the top plate.
3. Loosen the side plates
a) Two screws; one on each side above the front door hinges
b) Two screws at the bottom edge of the side panels.
NOTE!
To remove the side panels, the front panel has to be removed as described below
4. Remove the front panel inside the front doors
a) Two screws at each upper corner.
b) The front panel is free to lift up a few millimeters so that the bottom notches
come out of the rails in the side panels.
c) Pull the bottom edge of the front panel forwards. Bend the panel to allow the
edges to pass the hinges.
d) The side panels can now be lifted off.

Boiler house and Chimney
There are national regulations, e.g. the Swedish Building Regulations, that give
detailed directives about the performance of the boiler house, installation of
boiler in a boiler house, flue channel design etc. The plumber and the chimney
sweep can give the required information. The boiler house must for instance be
well ventilated and provided with a direct air inlet.
The boiler shall be placed on an even and stable concrete base.
The boiler is connected to the chimney/flue gas channel by the supplied turnable
flue gas pipe, preferrably horizontal. The flue gas channel may never be directed
downwards. The chimney shall be inspected before the installation. If there is any
doubt about the chimney design or its condition, the local chimney sweep has to be
contacted.
There must be an inlet air valve with min. 2 dm² area in the boiler house.
An outlet air fan may not be installed in the boiler house.
The UNO boiler’s combustion chamber and flue gas channels are designed to allow
combustion with a very high efficiency.
Note that the flue gases can condense with too low flue gas temperature, which
can cause freezing damage to the chimney. Rule of thumb: 1 m down in the
chimney the flue gas temperature should be at least 80°C when the burner is in
opertion. The chimney design and insulation determine the flue gas temperature;
a chimney of steel or of brick stone with insert pipe will not be damaged by low flue
gas temperatures provided that condensation, if any, is continously drained from the
lowest level of the chimney.
Install a draught regulator, if not already mounted.
The draught regulator shall be set at 15 Pa under-pressure. Too low under-
pressure can create the problem of overheating of the burner and too high under-
pressure can cause ignition problems and gas flashes.
Install the boiler min. 100 mm from the wall/chimney for easy service.
Also leave room for eventual cleaning access in the chimney.

Pipe connection
The pipe connections are to be carried out in accordance with current hot water
regulations. Connection side of inlet and return water pipes to the shunt valve is
determined by the supplied extension pipe’s connection to the valve.
Note that the pipe shall be installed at the return water side!
The boiler is provided with the following inlets and outlets:
• 2pcs.ofsocketsforhotwater/expansion,threaddimensionRp25(1”).
One socket is suitable to use for connection of the expansion chamber, the other
one for connection to the hotwater/radiator circuit. If the shunt valve is to be
used, one socket is plugged.
• Socketforreturnwaterontheboilerrearside,threaddimensionRp25(1”).
To be used for radiator circuit in the basement or if no shunt valve is used.
• Socketforshuntvalve(only6or9kW).Thesuppliedshuntvalveissecured
with an gasket in between and 2 pcs. M8 nuts.
Before mounting the valve, the supplied pipe shall be secured on the return
side of the valve base to separate hot and return water flows.

Install the supplied valve.
• CopperpipeØ22fortaphotwater(only6and9kW).Hotwateroutletisfrom
the right hand pipe, looking from the front. Always use a thermostatic mixing
valve and adjust the temperature to max. 55˚C.

Electrical installation
The electrical installation shall be carried out by authorized personnel!
The boiler is equipped with an integrated temperature limiter that protects against
overheating. The temperature limiter switches off the burner as well as the heating
cartridge, if mounted. When the reason for the overheating is found, the tempera-
ture limiter is reset by pushing the switch under the screwable cover.
UNO is available in 2 models, 6 and 9 kW, (see label under the burner door on the
boiler front). For use of the output guard (9 kW model) the supplied current trans-
formers shall be mounted around the inlet wire in the fuse box. They are connected
to terminals S1, S2, S3 and C (common) on the circuit board inside the boiler top
panel.
Load safety guard - function
The boiler registers the total use of current in the house by the current transformers.
Whenthecurrentreachesthelimitvaluessetbytheknob”SÄKRING”(FUSE),half
of the boiler output, 4.5 kW, is disconnected.
The right-hand white knob is to be set at 4.5 kW and the left-hand yellow knob at
the main fuses value.
2 hour barrier - function
After a power failure half of the boiler output is saved in the boiler to avoid stress of
the main supply. The barrier can be disconnected by shortcutting
the the two terminals marked TF. The delay will then be only 20 seconds.

Electrical connection of UNO
1. Remove the top panel
a) Two screws at the front/bottom edge; accessable behind the front doors.
b) Lift up the front edge a few centimetres. Put a suitable tool between the bot-
tom edge of the top panel and the side panels to keep the top panel in open
position.
2. Loosen the electric panel
a) Two screws at the top of each upper corner of the front panel.
b) Two M5-screws hold the electic panel towards the compressor bracket.
c) Two screws on each side above the front door hinges.
d) The electric panel is free to bend down to give access to the terminals.
