Installation guide
Before starting the installation, prepare a storage area for the components
to be removed during the installation. It is also recommended to store
clamps and screws in a labeled container to prevent confusion later.
This installation guide describes the installation of the softclose mechanism
on the two doors on the right-hand side of the vehicle in the direction of
travel. The installation is identical on the right-hand side of the vehicle in the
direction of travel and can therefore be carried out according to the same
instructions.
💡Tip
Start the installation at the passenger door.
Front door
Two T30 screws behind the metal door handle and a 10 mm hexagon
screw behind the handle trim are removed first.
These are each behind a plastic cover, which must be removed
beforehand using a plastic tool.
● The door panel can be levered out manually or with the help of a
plastic tool to the rear, starting from the front upper edge (at the level
of the side mirror).
● Cables connected to the door panel and the Bowden cable for
opening the door must be disconnected from the door panel in the
next step.

9
● 6 T20 screws are removed so that the plastic inner lining can be
dismantled
The speaker is also dismantled by removing 4 screws
● The next step is to remove 2 T30 screws from the lock unit so that the
lock can be carefully lifted out through the opening behind the
windowpane guide. The plug connected to the lock unit must be
disconnected before lifting it out.
ATTENTION:The window must be fully raised during this step.
● The Bowden cable must be removed from the old lock and connected
to the new lock unit. To do this, loosen the plastic barbs with a slotted
wrench.
The lock unit with yellow Styrofoam is used for the right side of the
vehicle (analogously, unit with blue Styrofoam is for the left side of the
vehicle).
First, the Bowden cable must be attached to this lock.
ATTENTION: The end piece of the Bowden cable must be hooked
behind the lug provided for this purpose in the new lock.
● Attach the plug for the lock unit to the new lock unit
● The new lock unit can now be inserted into the door behind the
windowpane guide. The two T30 screws previously loosened on the
old lock are used to secure the new lock unit.
● In the next step, the soft close motor is glued to the door body facing
outwards with the butyl already attached to the motor. Make sure
that the pull cable of the motor is not kinked and leads straight from
the motor to the lock unit.

10
● The cables of the lock should be fixed on the door body facing the
inside of the vehicle so that they do not interfere with the window
when it is lowered. Alubutyl strips can be used for this purpose.
● The cables of the soft close motor should be attached to the door body
facing outwards - Alubutyl can also be used here.
The black and yellow cable of the new unit are to be led out through
the rubber sealing hose from the inside of the door (see picture)
Attach the power supply Y-connector to the bottom of the Tesla
door control unit located on the plastic trim.
