The LED indicator turns off when the drive is not in use (standby mode).

Setup:
1. Turn on your computer.
2. Connect the small end of the USB cable to your DVD
writer.
3. Connect the other end to an available USB 2.0 port on
your computer.
4. OPTIONAL: Connect the other USB connector into a second
USB port on the computer if you need additional power.
5. Drivers install automatically. Once installed, you can start
using the drive. (To burn to disks, see Software Installation.)

Software Installation
You'll need to install software before you can burn CDs or
DVDs.
1. Insert the Nero 10 disc into the DVD writer (or use another burning
software if you prefer).
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install and use the software.
Troubleshooting
No power/Drive not recognized
•
Make sure the USB ports on the computer are working properly.
• Connect the second USB connector into another USB port on the
computer if you need additional power.
• Connect an auxiliary 5V 2A power adapter (not included).
The tray will not open/eject
•
Wait until software activity is nished.
• Use the eject function in the software program you are using.
• Unplug all cables, then insert the end of a paper clip into the force
eject hole.

Cannot write to disc / Writing errors
•
Use the software included with the DVD writer.
• Make sure the disc isn’t full.
• Use a supported disc format. Refer to the list of supported disc
formats on page 9.
• Make sure the disc is label side up.
• Make sure you have enough space on your computer’s hard drive
(about 2x the size of the data you want to write).
• Check the disc for scratches or ngerprints. These can cause
errors.
Writing to disc is slow
•
Use discs rated for the highest speed your DVD writer can write.
Refer to the list of read and write speeds on page 9.
• Connect the DVD writer to a USB 2.0 port on your computer.
When connected to a USB 1.1 port, your writer will operate at
USB 1.1 (slower) speed.
