3.4 Features of combined boat
1)The combined boat integrates sailboat and motor boat features. Please practice turning in open and barrier-free
water area until you are quite familiar with the control system.
2)Don’t use the reverse direction function to slow down or stop the boat, or the boat may run out of control so that

3)When the boat docks or nears the dock, the engine must run at a low speed. Make sure there’s no obstacle or
person behind, before switching the control lever to reverse.
4)When the engine is running, the water inlet of the jet pump should prevent long hair, slack clothes and PFD straps
from being tangled up with the moving parts. Still, avoid letting things near the intake, since entangling objects in the
moving parts could lead to boat damage or physical injury.
5)Stop the engine before cleaning the shreds or weeds near the water inlet. Remove the rope for engine emergency
protective switch to prevent shreds or weeds from being sucked into the nozzle②

3.5 Tips for Avoiding Danger
In closed area, make sure the engine isn’t running. Carbon monoxide emitted by the engine is a poisonous gas
with no color or smell but capable of making people unconscious or dead. This boat together with motor boat can only
be driven in open water areas.
3.6 Driving at night
The combined boat and motor boat is unequipped with lighting device, you can not drive after sunset or before
sunrise, which may increase the risk of collision, injury or even death.
4. Navigation Rules
The combined boat together with motor boat is legally defined as a power-driven vessel, and navigation rules
must be followed for driving such boat.
Just like there are road rules for car driving on streets or highways, there are navigation rules for driving boats.
Universally applicable, these rules are also mandatory laws and regulations by state bureau of maritime affairs and
local branch organizations. You should be aware of these laws and regulations to be followed in journeying with other
ships on the sea.
Different regulations may prevail due to geographical difference, but they are mostly in conformity with
international navigation rules. Regulations mentioned in the user manual have been condensed to facilitate your use.
As for the complete rules of boat driving on waters, please consult the local relevant organization or administrative
department for navigation channel.

4.1 Driving and Navigation Rules
When two boats moving in opposite directions meet, one boat that has the priority to go first is called
“continuously driven boat” while the other is called “other-way driven boat”.
Continuously Driven Boat
The boat with the priority mentioned should maintain its original speed and direction, unless it’s necessary to
change them to avoid collision. Only by maintaining speed and direction can the other boat better respond in order to
make way.
Other-way Driven Boat
The boat without the priority is obligated to drive other way. Generally, it can’t stand in the way of the boat with
priority but slow down or change direction and move behind. When collision seems unavoidable and neither boat has
the priority, both drivers shall try all means to avoid collision. Moreover, the rules may not be followed in the
desperate effort to avoid collision, in which case both boats are other-way driven.
4.2 Rules for Ship Encounter
If the boat is driven in a specified strip of water, one of the following cases will arise.
Meeting: getting close to another boat moving forward.
Traversing: vertically crossing the course of another moving boat.
Overtaking: overtaking or being overtaken by another boat.
