General Information
This widescreen active matrix TFT (thin film transistor) liquid crystal monitor is designed for
use as a stand alone TV as well as a display device for video electronics appliances and personal
computers.
Important Safety Information
The Power Supply should be connected to a MAIN Socket outlet with a protective earthing
connection.
Note to CATV system installer
This reminder is provided to call CATV system installer’s attention to Article 820-40 of the
National Electrical Code (Section 54 of Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1), that provides
guidelines for proper grounding and, in particular, specifies that the cable ground shall be
connected to the grounding system of the building as close as to the point of cable entry as
practical.
Caution: FCC/CSA regulations state that any unauthorized changes or modifications to this
equipment may void the user's authority to operate it.

Warning
Do not leave any stationary images, patterns, PIP windows, or letterbox images on the screen for
an extended period of time as this may result in permanent damage to the LCD panel. This type
of damage is not covered under warranty. The following are examples of, but not limited to,
potentially hazardous display output: side bar images, video game patterns, closed captioning,
channel logos, and letterbox black bars. To prevent this type of damage, display constant moving
images that fill the screen as often as possible.
According to industrial standards for LCD display technology, there are a certain number of
allowable defective pixels. Although we produce panels with more than 99.9 percent active
cells, there still may be some cells that do not produce light or remain constantly lit. For further
information, please contact sales or technical support.
Safety Precautions
Safety Labels are found on your LCD TV as well as on various packaging materials.

5. Water and moisture: Do not use the product near water or areas of high moisture content
such as swimming pools, bathtubs or wet basements.
6. Cleaning: Unplug the power cord from the AC outlet before cleaning the product. Use a
damp cloth to clean the product. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners.
7. Ventilation: The vents and other openings in the cabinet are designed for ventilation. Do not
cover or block these vents and openings as insufficient ventilation can cause overheating
and/or shorten the life of the product. Do not place the product on a bed, sofa, rug or other
similar surface, since they can block ventilation openings. This product was not designed to
operate in an enclosed environment. Do not place the product in an enclosed space such as a
bookcase or rack, unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer's instructions are
followed.
8. Heat sources: Keep the product away from heat sources such as radiators, heaters, stoves and
other heat-generating products (including amplifiers).
9. Stand: Do not place the product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod or table. Placing the
product on an unstable base can cause the product to fall, resulting in serious personal
injuries as well as damage to the product. Only use a cart, stand, tripod, and bracket or table
recommended by the manufacturer or sold with the product. Only use
mounting hardware recommended by the manufacturer.
10. Use care when moving the product on a rolling cart. Sudden stops,
excessive force and uneven floor surface can cause the product to fall
from the cart.
11. For added protection during a lightning storm or for extended periods of non-use, unplug the
power cord from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna (if used). This will prevent
damage to the product due to power line surges.
12. The LCD panel used in this product is made of glass. Therefore, it can break if the product is
dropped or struck.
13. During the LCD panel lifespan it is normal for a few pixels to become defective. Non-active
pixels may appear on the screen as fixed points of red, blue or green. Refer pixel policy
questions to the reseller for further clarification on acceptable loss.
14. An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or
other electrical conduits. When installing an outside antenna, use extreme caution to prevent
the antenna from coming into contact with said items, as contact with them may be fatal.
15. Outdoor antenna grounding:
If an outside antenna is connected to the LCD TV, be sure the antenna system is grounded so
as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built-up static charges. Article 810
of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information with regard to proper
grounding of the mast and supporting structure, ground of the lead-in wire to antenna
discharge unit, size of grounding conductors, location of antenna-discharge unit, connection
to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode.

Preface
This manual contains information that will help you operate your system. It is divided into 7
chapters and 2 appendices.
Chapter 1, Quick Setup, takes you through the process of setting up the LCD TV for use.
Chapter 2, Introducing Your LCD TV, briefly introduces the connectors, buttons, and
controls on your LCD TV and the buttons on your remote control.
Chapter 3, Watching TV, tells you how to use the basic operations for watching TV.
Chapter 4, Connecting External Devices, tells you how to connect different devices to your
LCD TV.
Chapter 5, More Features, provides detailed information on features such as aspect ratio,
freeze, twin-picture mode, parental controls, and sleep timer.
Chapter 6, Adjusting LCD TV Settings, describes how to adjust the settings using the On
Screen Display (OSD).
Chapter 7, Troubleshooting, gives solutions to common problems.
Appendix A, Specifications, provides brief specifications and regulatory information for the
LCD TV.
Appendix B, Channel Bandwidth and Designation, provides the USA CATV channel
table for selecting proper channel bandwidth.

1 Quick Setup
1.1 Unpacking
NOTE: Depending on the model you purchased, the appearance of your LCD TV and its accessories may
not be exactly the same as those shown in this manual.
After unpacking the shipping carton, you should find these standard items:

1.2 Preparation
Inserting the Batteries
1. Prepare two AAA batteries. It is recommended that the batteries are of the same type and
manufacturer. (Two batteries are supplied with your LCD TV.)
2. Remove the battery door by pressing inwards on the battery latch and lifting it up and away
from the remote control.
3. Install the two AAA batteries into the battery compartment as depicted by the diagram in the
interior of the battery compartment showing the positive (+) and negative (–) ends of the
batteries.
4. Place the battery door back into place and make sure it clicks into position.
CAUTION:
Place the batteries with their terminals corresponding to the (+) and (–) indicators.
When replacing the batteries, use two batteries of the same type and manufacturer. Replace both
batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries together.
Check the regulations of your local government for proper battery disposal.
