Assembling Your Food Processor

CAUTION:Followtheseimportantstepstoassemblethefoodprocessorquickly

andcorrectly.Injurymayresultifmovingbladesareaccidentallyexposed.Unplug

appliancefromelectricaloutletbeforeassembling,removing,orcleaning.Never

placemotororcordinwaterorotherliquids.

Beforeassemblingyourfoodprocessor,washallloosepartsinwarm,soapywater,

rinsethoroughlythendry.

1. Aligntabsoncontainerwithlockingslotsonbase.Rotatethecontainerclock 

 wiseuntilitlocksintoposition.NOTE:Thefoodprocessorwillnotoperate 

 unlessthecontainerissecurelylockedintoposition.

2. Placethechoppingbladeorbladeextensionhubintoplaceoverthemotor 

 shaft.Thebladeextensionhubassemblesonlyoneway,andisused 

 tosupportthereversibleslicing/shreddingblade.NOTE:Donotattempttouse

 boththechoppingbladeandtheslicing/shreddingbladeatthesametime.

3. Placecoveronbase.Thetabonthecovermustrotateclockwiseandengage

 theslotinthetopofthehandle.NOTE:TheFoodProcessorwillnotoperate 

 unlessthecoverislockedintoposition.

4. Insertfoodpusherintolidcoveropening.

5. YourStudioFoodProcessorisnowreadyforuse.

Using Your Food Processor – Chopping and Mixing

1. FollowtheassemblyinstructionsintheAssemblingyourFoodProcessorsection.

2. MakesuretheswitchisOFFandthefoodprocessorisunplugged.

3. Thechoppingbladecanbeusedtocoarselyornelychop,andmincefoods. 

 Increasedprocessingtimewillresultinfoodsthatarepuréedtoasmooth 

 consistency.

4. Placechoppingbladeovermotorhub.Bladesaresharp-handlecarefully.

5. Formoreuniformresults,startwithfoodpiecesthatareuniforminsize.

 Foodpiecesshouldbepre-cuttoapproximately1-inchinsizeforbestresults.

6. Addingredientstothefoodprocessorcontainer.Securelylockthecoverinplace.

7. Placecoveronfoodprocessorcontainer.

8. Plugcordintooutlet.

9. Alwaysoperatefoodprocessoronaclean,drysurfacetopreventairfrom

 carryingforeignmaterialorwaterintothemotor.

10.TOCHOP:ChooseLOWspeedtoobserveresults.Theprocessingspeed 

 andtimewilldetermineresults.Thepulsesettingwillhelpyouavoidover- 

 processing.

11.TOMINCE:Increaseprocessingtimeorspeed.

12.TOPURÉE:UsetheHIGHsetting.

13.TheblueLEDlightwillbe“ON“duringoperation.

14.UserubberspatulatopushingredientstobechoppedONLYwhenmotorisOFF.

15.Switchtoahigherspeedifthemotorseemstolaborwhenprocessingtopre- 

 ventover-loadingofthemotor.

16.TOSTOPPROCESSING:TurntheswitchtoOFF.

17.Waituntilbladesstoprotatingbeforeremovingcoverand/orprocessingcontainer.

18.Removeprocessorcontainerbyturningcounter-clockwiseonbasetounlock.

Using Your Food Processor – Slicing and Shredding

1. FollowtheassemblyinstructionsintheAssemblingyourFoodProcessorsection.

2. MakesuretheswitchisOFFandthefoodprocessorisunplugged.

3. Thereversibleslicing/shreddingbladecanbeusedtosliceorshredrmfoods

 intothefoodprocessorcontainer.

4. Placebladeextensionovermotorhub.Bladesaresharp-handlecarefully.

5. Placeslice/shredbladeontothehub.

6. Placecoverontofoodprocessorcontainer.

7. Formoreuniformresults,startwithfoodpiecesthatareuniforminsize.Food

 piecesshouldbeprecuttotintothefoodpusheropeningonthecover. 

 DONOTUSEFINGERSTOPUSHFOODINTOTHEOPENING.

8. Addfoodpiecesintothefoodpusheropeningontopofthecover.Placefood

 pusherintoopening.

9. Plugcordintooutlet.

10.Alwaysoperatefoodprocessoronaclean,drysurfacetopreventairfrom

 carryingforeignmaterialorwaterintothemotor. 

11.TOSLICE:ChooseLOWspeed.Exertmediumpressuretoevenlyfeedfoods

 intoshreddingblade.Bestresultsareobtainedbyllingfoodpusheropening

 withfoodstobesliced.Long,thinfoodshouldbepacednexttoeachother 

 llingthefoodpusheropening.

12.TOSHRED:Usetheshreddingportionofthereversibleslice/shredblade. 

 Useanevenpressuretofeedfoodsthroughtheblade.Bestresultsareob 

 tainedwhenthefoodstobeshreddedarerminconsistency.Refrigerating 

 softfoods,suchascheese,willresultinmoreevenprocessing.

13.TheblueLEDlightwillbe“ON”duringoperation.

14.Donotoverllthefoodprocessorcontainer.Whencontainercapacityhas 

 beenreached,emptycontainerbeforecontinuingtosliceorshredadditional 

 foods.Followinstructionforassemblingandusingyourfoodprocessorprior 

 toremovingorreassemblingparts.

15.TOSTOPPROCESSING:TurntheswitchtoOFF.

16.Waituntilbladesstoprotatingbeforeremovingthecover,foodpusherandor

 processingcontainer.

17.Removeprocessorcontainerbyturningcounter-clockwiseonbasetounlock.

Tips for General Use

Removing Processed Food

1. Beforeremovingprocessedfood,turnthedialtotheOFFpositionandwaitfor

thebladetostopspinning.Unplugtheunitandthenremovethelidbyturning

itcounter-clockwisetounlock.Nevertrytoremovethelidandthecontainer

togetherasoneunit;thiscandamagethefoodprocessor.

2. Becarefulnottoletthechoppingbladeorslicing/shreddingbladediscfallout

 ofthecontainerasyouemptyit.Topreventthechoppingbladefromfalling

out,carefullyremovethechoppingbladebyliftingupontheplastichub.To

removetheslicing/shreddingbladedisc,gripthecenterhubusingtwongers

andliftstraightup.Besuretoremovethebladeordiscbeforeattemptingto

emptyouttheprocessedfood.

3. Toliftthecontaineroffthemotorbase,turnthehandleofthecontainer

counter-clockwisetounlockandliftthecontainerstraightup.

 NOTE:Occasionally,apieceoffoodmaybecomewedgedbetweentheblade

andthecontainer.Ifthishappens,unplugtheunit,removethelid,liftthe

bladeoutcarefullyandremovethewedgedpiece.Emptythecontainer,re-

inserttheblade,replacetheingredientsandlockthelidintoplacetocontinue

processing.

Hints for Preparing Foods for Chopping or Mixing

Fruits and vegetables-

Peelandcoreifnecessary.Removelarge,hardpitsandseeds.Cutinto3⁄4-inch

piecesandprocessupto1-cupatatime.

Meat, poultry and ﬁsh-

Meatshouldbecoldbutnotfrozen.First,cutinto3⁄4-inchpieces.Putupto1⁄2

poundofmeatincontainer.Pulseorrunmotorcontinuouslyuntildesiredconsistency

isreached.Checktextureevery2or3secondstoavoidover-processing.

Cleaning Your Food Processor

1. Switchfoodprocessorto“OFF”positionandunplugfromelectricaloutlet.

2. Hand-washallpartsinhotsoapywater,rinse,anddry.Becarefulofblades

whenwashinganddrying.Donotwashanypartsinthedishwasher.

3. Wipemotorbase,controlknob,andcordwithadampclothorsponge.To

removestubbornstains,useamild,non-abrasivecleanser.Neversubmerge

motorbaseinwater.

4. Reassemblethefoodprocessorforstorage.

5. Foodprocessorpartsarecorrosionresistant,sanitaryandeasilycleaned.

Beforerstuseandaftereveryuse,separatecontainerpartsandcleanthor-

oughlyinwarm,soapywater,rinseanddrywell.DONOTWASHANYPARTS

INANAUTOMATICDISHWASHER.Periodicallycheckallpartsbeforereas-

sembly.Ifanypartsarechippedorcracked,DONOTUSEFoodProcessor.

Bread, crackers or cookies-

Breakinto1-inchpiecesandprocesscontinuouslyuntildesiredtextureisreached.

Hard cheese-

Ifcheeseistoohardtocutwithaknife,don’ttrytochopitinthefoodprocessor

asitmaydamagetheblade.(Donotattempttochopparmesancheeseinthe

foodprocessor.)Cutcheeseinto1⁄2-inchcubes.Pulsemotoruntilthedesired

consistencyisreached.Youmaychopcheeseascoarseorasneasyouwant.

Simplyrunmachinelongerfornerchop.Donotattempttoprocessmorethan3

ouncesofcheeseatonetime.
