An exclamation point within an equilateral triangle

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

A person who has not read and understood all operating and safety

instructions is not qualiﬁed to operate this appliance. When using this

appliance, always adhere to basic safety precautions including:

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.

FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.

1.UseINDOORS on a dry, level, well-supported, stable surface.

DO NOT use outdoors. DO NOT operate in a moving vehicle.

2.DO NOT allow children to be near Puriﬁer without close super-

vision. Boiling water will scald if spilled on skin. Warn other users

of possible dangers from boiling water and/or escaping steam.

3.DO NOT remove kettle while Puriﬁer is operating. Let cool at least

30 minutes after a cycle is ﬁnished. Boiling water or steam can cause

severeburns.

4.DO NOT change position or location of Puriﬁer while it is operat-

ing or cooling. Wait at least one hour after a cycle is ﬁnished or in-

terrupted before moving Puriﬁer. Boiling water or steam can cause

severeburns.

5.DO NOT place too near an edge of the supported surface where

Puriﬁer can be bumped or be pulled down on someone. DO NOT

allow power cord or extension cord to hang over the edge of a coun-

ter or contact hot surfaces.

6. A short power supply cord is provided to reduce risks resulting from

becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If an exten-

sion cord must be used, its marked electrical rating should be at least

as great as the electrical rating of the Puriﬁer. Electrical rating is

found on bottom of Puriﬁer.

7. To protect against ﬁre, electrical shock, and injury to persons,

DO NOT immerse power cord or Puriﬁer in water or liquid.

8. DO NOT operate with a damaged cord or plug, after a malfunction,

or if the Puriﬁer has been damaged in any manner. Return to

an authorized dealer or qualiﬁed service facility for examination

andrepair.

9.ThisPuriﬁer is recommended for use with only potable water

supplies.DO NOT attempt to make safe drinking water from

nonpotable water sources. DO NOT use salt water as this will

damage certain components and will void warranty.

10. Operate in a well-ventilated area away from other heat sources.

Provide adequate air space (at least 4 inches from walls or cabinets)

when in use. DO NOT place, store, or stack anything on top of or

against sides of Distiller while in operation. DO NOT place on or

near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

11. DO NOT operate without water in the kettle. Permanent damage

may occur.

12. DO NOT plug steam vent on top of kettle cover.

13. This Puriﬁer requires no special care other than general cleaning

(page 9) and periodic ﬁlter replacement (page 7). If servicing becomes

necessary, please contact your authorized dealer or an authorized

service facility. DO NOT attempt to repair Puriﬁer yourself. There

are NO user serviceable parts. See warranty for service details.

14. Unplug from wall outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow

to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning.

15. Make sure collection/storage carafe is properly placed for water

collection.

16. DO NOT FILL THE KETTLE ABOVE THE “MAX” LINES.

Overﬁlling the kettle will jeopardize water quality and may result in

damage to the Puriﬁer that is not covered by the warranty.

17. DO NOT use appliance for other than intended use.

Plug Puriﬁer into a GROUNDED 120 volt electrical outlet only. This

appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To

reduce the risk of electrical shock, the plug will ﬁt into a polarized outlet

only one way. If the plug does not ﬁt fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.

If it still does not ﬁt, contact a qualiﬁed electrician. DO NOT modify the

plug in any way.

CAUTION: NEVER REMOVE THE KETTLE WHILE THE FAN

MOTOR IS RUNNING, OR FOR 30 MINUTES AFTER IT STOPS.

This product conforms to NSF/ANSI 62 for the speciﬁc performance

claims as veriﬁed and substantiated by test data.

The physiological effects of the operation of this appliance, beneﬁcial or

otherwise, have not been investigated by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. See

Product Data Sheet for test data obtained from an independent laboratory.

Puriﬁer will distill any amount up to 1 gallon per batch. If less than 1

gallon is wanted, ﬁll kettle with desired amount. Puriﬁer will automatically

shut off when no water remains in kettle.

Setting the Time Display

Hours

To move the hours forward by one hour, press the “Hour” button quickly

once. To fast-forward the time, press for at least one second. After comple-

tion, the time display will blink for another ﬁve seconds before the time is

ﬁnally set.

Minutes

To move the minutes forward by one minute, press the “Minute” button

quickly once. To fast-forward the time, press for at least one second. After

completion, the time display will blink for another ﬁve seconds before the

time is ﬁnally set.

12-24 Hour Mode

Pressing the “Hour” and “Minute” buttons simultaneously for seven sec-

onds enables changeover from 12 hour mode to 24 hour mode (or from

24 hour mode to 12 hour mode). In 12 hour mode the display shows AM

or PM.

If power is interrupted the time will revert to 12:00 and will blink in the

display window. Clock will continue to run but must be reset to show cor-

rect time.

Setting the Display Function/Checking Delay Status

The Delay Function allows the Puriﬁer to be programmed to start at a later

time.

Setting or Changing Delay Start Time

IMPORTANT: Determine desired Delay Start Time before setting

or changing.

Hours

Press “Delay” button once. Delay Start Time and “Delay” indicator appear

in the display window and Delay Start Time will show 12:00 (or last delay

time set).

Press the “Hour” button once, after which the hour ﬁgure blinks for three

seconds in the display window. During these three seconds, hours can be

forwarded by one hour by pressing the “Hour” button once. By continuous

pressing of the button, time can be fast-forwarded. After hour portion of

delay time is set, clock will revert to current time in three seconds.

Minutes

Press “Delay” button once. Delay Start Time and “Delay” indicator appear

in the display window and Delay Start Time will show 12:00 (or last delay

time set).

Press the “Minute” button once, after which the minutes ﬁgure blinks for

three seconds in display window. During these three seconds, minutes can

be forwarded by one minute by pressing the “Minute” button once. By

continuous pressing of the button, time can be fast-forwarded.

Start/Stop Hour Minute Delay

If time is correctly set, after three seconds the current time reappears

with “Delay” in the display. “Delay” indicates the delay time function is

activated. To deactivate delay time function, press “Delay” button twice

within a period of three seconds, or press “Delay” button once while in

delay mode. After completion, “Delay” will not appear next to time in the

display window.

Check Delay Time Status

Press the “Delay” button once. Delay Start Time appears in display

window with “Delay” in the display. After three seconds the current time

reappears.

Switching the Puriﬁer On/Off

To turn Puriﬁer on or off, press the “Start/Stop” button. When turning

Puriﬁer on, “On” appears in the display window and the “On” (red) light

illuminates (ﬁg. B). After turning Puriﬁer off, the “On” light turns off.

Carafe Indicator

If carafe is not in correct position, or is removed from base unit during

operation, “Carafe” indicator will appear in display window for 90 seconds.

After 90 seconds the unit will shut off. To restart, place carafe in position

and press “Start/Stop.”

Kettle Indicator

If the kettle is not correctly positioned when you turn the Puriﬁer on,

the “On” light (ﬁg. B) will blink and the unit will shut off. If the kettle is

removed during a cycle, the unit will shut off.

Carbon Filter Indicator

The Carbon Filter Indicator shows four status bars to indicate ﬁlter life (ﬁg.

B). Four bars indicate a new ﬁlter and zero bars indicate that ﬁlter needs

to be changed. In addition to bars the “Filter” indicator will ﬂash in the

display when ﬁlter needs to be changed. To reset Filter Status Bars to new

ﬁlter status, press and hold “Delay” button for seven seconds.

PREPARING FOR FIRST TIME USE

CleanKettle

• Remove kettle from base unit

• Remove kettle cover by twisting counterclockwise, then lift

• Wash inside of kettle with soap and water

• Rinse thoroughly

CleanCarafe

• Remove carafe from base unit

• Pull tab to release carbon compartment cover (ﬁg. D)

• Wash carafe and cover with soap and warm water

• Rinse thoroughly

Carbon Filter Preparation

Puriﬁer uses a carbon ﬁlter in the carafe cover as a ﬁnal “polishing” treat-

ment to remove traces of odors before puriﬁed water is collected in carafe.

Button

Once the bottom quarter (1/4) is wet, slowly immerse entire bag,

squeezing gently to remove air. If the bag “puffs up,” you are immers-

ing it too quickly.

• Once the bag has been immersed, remove from the water and rinse it

by pouring more distilled water over bag to remove any carbon ﬁnes

(dust).

Install Filter

Be sure carbon is evenly distributed within bag, then place bag in ﬁlter

housing (ﬁg. D). Replace cover on housing and place lid on carafe.

Replace Filter

The ﬁlter should be replaced as inicated by ﬁlter status bar (every two to

three months). Replace more often should the distilled water begin to have

an unwanted taste or odor. Reset the ﬁlter status bar by pressing and hold-

ing the “Delay” button (ﬁg. A) for seven seconds. Discard ﬁrst gallon of

distilled water as it may contain small, harmless carbon ﬁnes. Order re-

placement ﬁlters from the outlet where you purchased your Puriﬁer.

USING THE COUNTERTOP PURIFIER

Operational maintenance and replacement requirements are essential for

this product to perform as advertised.

1.SetPuriﬁer on a dry, level, well-supported, stable surface.

2. Rinse and ﬁll kettle to “MAX” lines with approximately 1 gallon ordi-

nary tap water. DO NOT ﬁll above “MAX” ﬁll lines (ﬁg. D).

3. Replace kettle cover. Twist clockwise to lock. slide kettle into base unit

andpressﬁrmly to ensure kettle is properly placed (ﬁg. C).

4. Place carafe on base unit and plug power cord into a GROUNDED

120 VOLT outlet.

5. Press the ”Start/Stop” button to turn Puriﬁer on (ﬁg. C). The “On”

light will illuminate.

6. After the cycle is complete (approximately four hours) the Puriﬁer turns

offautomatically.AFTER THE FAN MOTOR STOPS, WAIT AT

LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING KETTLE COVER.

7.Discardﬁrst gallon of distilled water as it may contain some harmless

matter from manufacturing and/or packaging.

8. Rinse kettle thoroughly before reﬁlling.

9. To pour water from carafe, open spout by pulling on center strip in

direction of arrow indicator near thumb position.

10. Store carafe ﬁlled with puriﬁed water in the refrigerator.

PURIFIER MAINTENANCE

WARNING: ALWAYS BE SURE TO UNPLUG POWER CORD

FROM ELECTRICAL OUTLET BEFORE CLEANING OR

SERVICINGPURIFIER.

Cleaning Kettle

Before every distillation cycle, rinse the inside with lukewarm tap water

and remove any loose residue. Clean by wiping out the inside of the kettle

with a damp cloth and rinse. If scale starts to form at the bottom, use an

approved cleaner/descaler such as KLEENWISE to remove deposits. White

vinegar or automatic coffee pot cleaner can also be used. Residue buildup

on the bottom of the kettle will prevent the system from purifying a

complete batch of water.Remove kettle from base unit. Fill kettle with

hot water and follow the instructions on the cleaner. Use a soft plastic or

nylon scouring pad if needed. DO NOT use abrasive cleansers, caustic

acids, steel wool pads, or metal utensils. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning.

DO NOT operate Puriﬁer with cleaning solution in kettle.

Cleaning Carafe

Clean with mild dish detergent and soft cloth. Rinse thoroughly. DO NOT

use carafe to store liquids other than puriﬁed water. Other liquids may

transfer a taste or odor.

Cleaning Exterior Surfaces

To keep your Puriﬁer looking new, periodically clean the exterior plastic

surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. DO NOT use any caustic cleaning solu-

tions, scouring pads or powders because they will damage the plastic ﬁnish.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Not making puriﬁed water

1.Puriﬁer power cord not plugged into electrical outlet.

2. No power to electrical outlet.

3. Kettle not plugged into base unit receptacle.

4. Did not press “Start/Stop” button to start cycle.

5. Did not ﬁll the kettle with water.

6. Carafe is not in place.

7. Kettle bottom has residue buildup.

Not making enough water each batch

1. Did not ﬁll kettle with water to “MAX” lines.

2. Carafe is not in correct position.

3. Kettle cover is not locked into position (page 8).

4. Kettle bottom has residue buildup.

Flashing Indicator

1.“Carafe”ﬂashing in display indicates carafe is not in position.

2. Flashing “On” light indicates kettle is not in position.

3.“Filter”ﬂashing in display: replace ﬁlter and reset Filter Status Bars.

4.Timeﬂashing in display indicates power supply has been interrupted.

Water Leaks

1. Water receptacle in carafe lid is not open.

2. Kettle cover is not locked into position (page 8).

3. Kettle gasket damaged or missing.

4. Fan not working.

5.Airﬂow restricted around Puriﬁer.

6. Kettle ﬁlled above “MAX” lines (page 8).
