PRE INSTALLATION CHECKLIST
• Familiarise yourself with the user manual and the various parts of your
Watersnake motor
• Select desired mounting location on boat
• Use a deep cycle marine battery (your Watersnake motor is not designed
for use with car / truck / motorcycle type batteries) – for more information
about appropriate batteries for your Watersnake motor, refer to page 11
• WARNING: Your motor Must Not be connected to the battery while the
battery is being charged. This includes any sort of alternator system. You
must disconnect your Watersnake motor before every charge. Failure to do
so will void your warranty.
• Check the battery cable length in relation to the location of your deep
cycle battery. Voltage Drop can be an issue that is encountered if the Battery
Power Leads need to be extended due to existing or a preferred battery
location on the water craft you are fitting the motor to. To avoid voltage drop,
it is usual to adjust the cable gauge down (use larger cable) from the Power
Leads that come pre-fitted to the motor. If you are planning to extend the
Battery Power Leads that are pre-fitted to the motor, then we recommend
you follow the suggestions in the table on page 11 or seek advice from local
electrical supplier. Failure to do so will affect motors performance and void
warranty.
• NOTE – if extending battery cable ensure that the circuit breaker ( If your
motor is equiped with one. ) remains in place on the positive wire.
