Meaning of symbols
Various symbols are used to provide a clear understanding of the text.
These are explained below:
•A dot is placed before lists.
A triangle marks tasks you have to perform.
An arrow refers to a different place in the text.
In addition, we use pictograms to help you easily find certain text
sections.
I
NDICATION
The words “Tip“ and “Instruction” are followed by tips or hints for
operation.
The warning triangle indicates important safety regulations. Failing to
comply with these may result in:
•serious operating malfunctions of the machine;
•damage the machine;
•injuries or accidents.
The spanner indicates tips for assembly or adjustment work.
A starindicates that examples will follow that are intended to clarify the
text.
All directional rotations are to be interpreted when facing in direction
of travel.

Safety
For your safety
In this chapter, you will find general safety instructions. You will find
more specific safety instructions not described here in every chapter.
Do not risk injury or death by ignoring the safety instructions.
Working with agricultural machines may be dangerous. Prevent
accidents! Do not take undue risks! Be alert at all times!
Think safety! Work in safety!
Disregarding safety instructions, inadequate maintenance, use of the
machine for purposes other than for what it is intended, overloading of
or unauthorised modification to the machine, renders the resultant
manufacturer's warranty and liability void.
Familiarise yourself with the operating functions and safety instruc-
tions prior to using the machine.
Incorrect use of the machine may result in dangerous situations. For
this reason, you should always work carefully and never under huge
time pressure.
Other guidelines
Comply with the rules
In addition to the instructions above, you should comply with the
following:
•measures to prevent accidents,
•generally applicable safety instructions, occupational health
requirements and road traffic regulations,
•instructions in this manual,
•rules regarding use, maintenance and repairs.

Safety
7
Warning stickers
Various warning stickers have been affixed to the machine for safety
reasons. Do not remove them! Always follow the instructions provided
and be alert to possible risks.
Always keep the warning stickers and symbols clean and clearly
legible. Replace warning stickers that are missing, damaged or those
that have become illegible. If original parts on which a warning sticker
or symbol was fixed are replaced, ensure that the replacement part is
also provided with a corresponding warning sticker.

Explanation for warning
stickers
Stop the engine and remove the keys from the ignition
Switch the engine off as soon as you leave the tractor. Remove the
key from the ignition to prevent the tractor from starting up (uninten-
tionally) while you are in the danger zone. This especially applies
when changing the settings or while maintenance and repairs are
being carried out.
Maintain a safe distance from a running machine
Fertiliser is spread over a great distance during operation. Ensure that
nobody comes within operating range of the machine when it is
running. Do not come into the working area before all parts of the
machine come to a halt.
Operate the power lift only outside the danger zone
There is a danger of being pinned down by the power lift in the area
between the tractor and the machine. Operate the power lift only from
outside the danger zone for this reason. Secure the tractor against
rolling away with the handbrake and wheel chocks.
Do not approach the machine until it has come to a complete
standstill
The rotating parts of the machine never come to an immediate halt,
they always wind down. The moving parts of a machine are not always
visible. Do not approach themachine until all moving parts have come
to a complete halt.

Safety
9
Never go below an elevated, unsecured machine
The machine or parts of the machine could accidentally fall due to
dropping oil pressure, for instance. Always place the machine on
proper supports if you have to work under the machine!
Only lift the machine at the lifting points
If a machine is being elevated, attach it only at the indicated lifting
points. Never go below an elevated machine. Allow for any possible
movements of the elevated machine, whether wanted or not.
Be careful of getting jammed or pinched
If the machine is engaged or operated intentionally or unintentionally,
you could get crushed in moving parts, which could lead to injury. Be
very alert when working in the vicinity of moving parts. Always bear in
mind that the motor or parts of the machine may have some residual
energy.
Read the user’s manual
The instruction manual contains procedures for working correctly to
ensure safe work, as well as dangers one could possibly encounter.
Comply with these procedures as described and give due consider-
ation to the safety measures in place!
Do not exceed the maximum hydraulic pressure of 200 bars
Prevent the pressure in the hydraulic system from exceeding 200
bars! Working with higher pressure may damage your machine and
result in dangerous situations.

Safety
10
Safety regulations

that need to be considered for every type of usage, maintenance and
repair of the machine.
The chapters in this user's manual contain additional safety
measures.

trouble-free usage of the machine.
Always follow the safety instructions. most accidents can be
prevented. Do not run the risk of serious or fatal accidents by
neglecting these safety instructions.
Intended use
