1. Introduction

Thank you for buying the VDP150CC! Read this manual carefully before bringing the device into service.

Make sure that the device was not damaged in transit. Ifit was, don’t install the device and contactyour dealer.

2. Safety Instructions

- Everyone involved with the installation, operation and maintenance of this devicehas to be qualified and follow the

instructions of this manual meticulously.

- Be very careful during installation: touching high voltage live wires can cause life-threatening electric shock.

- Damage caused by disregarding certain guidelines in this manual voids the warranty.

- Do not switch the device on immediatelyafter it has been exposed to changes in temperature. Protect the device

against damage by leaving it switched offuntil it has reached room temperature.

- This device falls under protection class I. Therefore it is essential that the device be earthed.

- Make sure that the available voltage does not exceed the voltage stated in the specifications of this manual.

- Do not crimp the power cord and protect it againstdamage from sharp edges.

- Always disconnect the device from the mains when it is not in use or when you wish to clean it. Only handle the

power cord by the plug. Never pull out the plug by tugging the power cord.

- Do not look directly into the light source as sensitive people may go into epileptic seizure if they do.

- There may be some smoke or a particular smell when the device is activated for the first time. This is normal and

any smoke or smell will gradually disappear.

- Never touch the device during operation as the housing heats up and contact may cause burns.

- Note that damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty. Keep the device

away from children and unauthorised users.

3. General Guidelines

- This device is a light controller for professionaluse on stages, in discos, theatres, etc.It should only be operated

with an alternating current of 230V AC/50Hz. This device is designed for indoor use only.

- Lighting effects are not designed for permanent operation : regular operation breaks will make them last longer.

- Do not shake the device. Avoid brute force when installing or operating the device.

- Select a location where the device will be protected against extreme heat, moisture and dust. Respect a minimum

distance of 50cm between the projector and the illuminated surface.

- Always secure the device with an appropriate safety cable (VDLSC7 or VDLSC8).

- Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it. Do not permit operation by unqualified

people. Any damage that may occur will probably be caused byunprofessional use of the device.

- Use the original packaging if the device is to be transported.

- Note that all modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons.

- Only use the device for its intended purpose. All other uses may lead to short circuits,burns, electric shock,lamp

explosion, crash, etc. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty and may damage the device.

4. Installation

a) The Lamp

- Disconnectthe unit from the mains to install or replace the lamp.

- Replace the lamp immediately if it’s damaged or deformed.

- Let the lamp cool down before replacing it,for it can heat up to 700°C.

- When handling a halogen lamp, do not touch it with your bare hands. Use a cloth to insert or remove it.

- Do not install lamps with a higher wattage than that for which the device was designed, as they generatehigher

temperatures and may damage the unit.

- Use a 15V/150W GZ6.35 lamp (order code LAMP150/15).

- Procedure: 1. Unscrew the screws on the bottom of the housing and open the lid.

2. Remove the old lamp if applicable, and insert the new one.

3. Close the lid and fix the screws.

Remark: Do not operate the device with an open lid.

b)The Fuse

- Disconnect the unit from the mains to fit or replace the fuse.

- If the lamp burns out, chances are you will need to replace the fuse on the rear panel of the base as well.

- Replace a blown fuse with a fuse of the same type and rating (see 7. Technical Specifications, page 4) :

1. Pull out the fuse holder at the rear panel.

2. Remove the old fuse and install a new one.

3. Replace the fuse holder.

c) The Device

- A qualified person should install this device respecting EN 60598-2-17 and all other applicable norms..

- The construction to which the device is attached should be able to support10 times the weight for one hour

without deformation.

- The installation must always be secured with a secondary attachment e.g. a safety cable.

- Never stand directly below the device when it is being mounted, removed or serviced. Have a qualified

technician check the device before you bring it into service. Have a qualified technician check the entire

installation once a year.

- Install the device in a location where few people pass by and that is unreachable for unauthorised persons.

- Overhead mounting requires extensive experience : calculating work load limits, determining the installation

material to be used… Have the material and the device itselfchecked regularly. Do not attempt to install the

device yourself if you lack these qualifications as improper installation may result in injuries.

- Make sure there is no flammable material within a 50cm radius of the device.

- A qualified electrician should carry out the electric connection.

- Connect the device to the mains with the power plug. Install a switch with a minimum distance of 3mm between

contacts if thedevice is to be connected directlywith the mains. In general, lighting effects should not be

connected to dimming packs.

- The installation has to be approved byan expert before the deviceis taken into service.

5. Operating Instructions

a) DMX control

The DMX start address ofthe controller is defined by the 9 DIP switches.

Since this device has 4 channels, the following settings should be applied when chaining them together: projector

1 = address 1, proj. 2 = address 5,proj. 3 = address 9 etc.

The chain should be connected using the XLR connections:

Place a terminator on the DMX output connector of the lastdevice in the DMX chain. This is an XLR connector

with a 120ohm (1/4W) resistor between pin 2 and 3. You can make this yourself using a male XLR connector.

The unit is controlled by 1 channel,which sets 1 of the 8 colours or switches the lamp off:

b) Music Control

When using music control, the unit will react to the music through the built-in microphone. The music sensitivity

can be adjusted by the rotary button on the back of the device.Adjust it until the reaction of the unit to the music

satisfies you. When chaining multiple units, please set the DIP switch settings as follows:

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

1. All screws should be tightened and free of corrosion.

2. There should notbe any deformation on the housing, colour lenses,fixations and installation construction.

3. The electric power supply cables should be undamaged. Have this device installed by a qualified technician.

4. The moving partsmust show no traces of wear and tear and should be well-balanced.

5. Wipe the device clean regularly using a moist and clean cloth. Do not use alcohol or solvents on the device.

6. Repairs should always be handled by a qualified technician. The user may only replace the lamp and the fuse

(see 4. Installation on page 1) when necessary.

7. Order any spare parts you may need with your local dealer.

1. Inleiding

Dank u voor uw aankoop! Lees de handleiding van uw VDP150CC aandachtig voor u het toestel in gebruik neemt.

Ga na of het toestel werd beschadigd tijdens het transport. Zo ja, installeer het toestel niet en raadpleeg uw dealer.

2. Veiligheidsvoorschriften

- Iedereen betrokken bij plaatsing, bediening en onderhoud van dit toestel moet terzake geschoold zijn en de

richtlijnen in deze handleiding nauwgezet volgen.

- Behoed u tijdens de plaatsing voor elektrische schokken door contactmet elektriciteitsdraden onder spanning.

- Bij schade veroorzaaktdoor het negeren van de richtlijnen in deze handleiding vervalt de garantie.

- U mag het toestel niet aanzetten onmiddellijk nadat het werd blootgesteld aan temperatuurschommelingen. Om

beschadiging te vermijden, moet u wachten tot hettoestel kamertemperatuur heeft bereikt.

- Dit toestel valt onder beschermingsklasse I. Daarom moet het toestel zeker geaard zijn.

- De beschikbare spanning mag niet hoger zijn dan de spanning die wordt vermeld in de specificaties.

- De voedingskabel mag niet worden omgeplooid of beschadigd.

- Trekde stekkeruithet stopcontact vooru hettoestel reinigten als uhetniet gebruikt. Neemaltijdde stekker vastom het

toestel aan oflos te koppelen.Ruk nooitaan de voedingskabelomde stekker uithet stopcontactte halen.

- Kijk niet rechtstreeks in de lichtbron. Ditkan bij sommige mensen leiden tot een aanval van epilepsie.

- Wanneer u het toestel voor het eerst aansluit, kan dit gepaard gaan met rookontwikkeling en een bepaalde geur.

Dit is normaal en de eventuele rook ofgeur zal geleidelijk aan verdwijnen.

- Raak het toestel niet aan als het in werking is ; de behuizing warmt op en contact kan brandwonden veroorzaken.

- Schade veroorzaaktdoor wijzigingen die de gebruiker heeft aangebrachtaan het toestel vallen niet onder de

garantie. Houd dit toesteluit de buurt van kinderen en onbevoegden.

3. Algemene Richtlijnen

- Dit toestel is een lichteffect voor professioneel gebruik op podia, indisco's, theaters,enz. U mag dit toestel enkel

binnenshuis gebruiken met een wisselspanning van maximum 230Vac/50Hz.

- Lichteffecten zijn niet ontworpen voor continue werking: regelmatige onderbrekingen doen ze langer meegaan.

- Schud het toestel niet dooreen. Vermijd brute krachttijdens de installatie en de bediening van dit toestel.

- Installeer het toestel ergenswaar het beschermd is tegen extreme hitte, vochtigheid en stof.Zorg voor een

minimumafstand van 50 cm tussen de lichtuitgang van de projector en het oppervlakwaarop u wilt projecteren.

- Maak het toestel vast met een geschikte veiligheidskabel (bvb. VDLSC7 of VDLSC8).

- Leer eerst de functies van het toestel kennen voor u hetgaat gebruiken. Ongeschoolde personen mogen dit toestel

niet gebruiken. Meestal is beschadiging het gevolg van onprofessioneel gebruik.

- Gebruik de oorspronkelijke verpakking wanneer u het toestel vervoert.

- Om veiligheidsredenen mag de gebruiker geen wijzigingen aanbrengen aan het toestel.

- Gebruik het toestel enkelwaarvoor het gemaaktis. Andere toepassingen kunnen leiden totkortsluitingen,

brandwonden, elektrische schokken,ontploffing van de lamp enz. Bij onoordeelkundig gebruikvervalt de garantie.

4. Installatie

a) De Lamp

- Plaats of vervang een lamp enkel wanneer het toestel nietis aangesloten op het lichtnet.

- Een vervormde ofbeschadigde lamp dient onmiddellijk vervangen te worden.

- Laat de lamp afkoelen voor u ze vervangt:ze kan opwarmen tot 700°C.

- Raak een halogeenlamp niet aan met uw blote handen. Gebruik een doek om een halogeenlamp te vervangen.

- Plaats geen lampen met een te hoog wattage. Deze genereren temperaturen die hoger zijn dan die waarop dit

toestel is voorzien.

- Dit toestel werkt met één 15V/150W GZ6.35 lamp (code LAMP150/15):

1. Maak de schroeven aan de achterkantvan de behuizing los en verwijder het deksel.

2. Verwijder indien nodig de oude lamp en breng de nieuwe in.

3. Plaats het deksel terug en draai de schroeven vast.

Opmerking: Stel het toestel niet in werking wanneer het deksel is verwijderd.

b) De Zekering

- U mag een zekering enkel plaatsen of vervangen wanneer het toestel niet is aangesloten op het lichtnet.

- Als de lamp springt, is het heel goed mogelijk dat de zekering achteraan de basis ook moet worden vervangen.

- Vervang een gesprongen zekering door een zekering van hetzelfde type en met dezelfde specificaties (zie 7.

Technische specificaties op pagina 7). Ga als volgtte werk:

1. Verwijder de zekeringhouder van het achterpaneel van de basis.

2. Verwijder de oude zekering en breng de nieuwe in.

3. Plaats de zekeringhouder weer in de behuizing.

c) Het Toestel

- Een geschoolde technicus moet dit toestel plaatsen volgens EN 60598-2-17 en alle andere relevante normen.

- De constructie waaraan hettoestel wordt bevestigd, moetgedurende 1 uur 10 xhet gewicht van dit toestel

kunnen dragen zonder te vervormen.

- Maak de het toestel ook vast met een veiligheidskabel.

- Sta nooit recht onder het toestel wanneer u het plaatst, verwijdert of schoonveegt. Laat het toestel controleren

door een geschoolde technicus voor u het in gebruik neemt en laat het 1 x per jaar volledig nakijken.

- Installeer dit toestel op een plaats waar onbevoegden niet bij kunnen en waar weinig mensen voorbijkomen.

- Een degelijke praktijkervaring is vereist voor de plaatsing van dit toestel. U moet de maximumbelasting van de

draagconstructie kunnen berekenen, weten welk constructiemateriaal u kunt gebruiken en u moet het gebruikte

materiaal en het toestel af en toe laten nakijken. Plaats het toestel niet zelf indien u er geen ervaring mee heeft.

Een slechte montage kan leiden tot verwondingen.

- Verwijder alle brandbaar materiaal in een straal van 50cm rond het toestel.

- Een geschoolde elektricien moet het toestel aansluiten.

- Sluit het toestel via de stekker aan op het lichtnet. Voorzie een schakelaar met minimum 3mm tussen de

contacten indien het toestel rechtstreeks wordtaangesloten op het lichtnet. Lichteffecten worden bij voorkeur

niet aangesloten op een dimmerpack.

- De installatie moet voor het eerste gebruik gekeurd worden door een expert.

5. Bediening

a) DMX-gestuurd

Het DMXstartadres van de controller wordt bepaald met de 9 DIP switches.

Dit toestel heeft 4 kanalen ; daarom moet u deze instellingen gebruiken als u ze aan elkaar koppelt: projector 1 =

adres 1, projector 2 = adres5, proj. 3 = adres 9 etc.

Voor een overzichtvan de instellingen, zie de figuur bovenaan pagina 3.

U kunt de toestellen aan elkaar koppelen via de XLR-connectors. Hoe deze connectors er uitzien, en hoe u de

toestellen aan elkaar koppelt,kunt u vinden in het midden van pagina 3.

Plaats een terminator op de DMX-uitgang van het laatste toestel in de DMX-keten. Een terminator is een XLR-

connector met een 120ohm (1/4W) weerstand tussen pin 2 en 3. U kunt deze zelf maken met een mannelijke

XLR-connector.

Dit toestel heeft 4 kanalen:

KANAAL 1: selecteert 1 van de 8 kleuren of schakelt de lamp uit

KANAAL 2: selecteert 1 van de 12 gobos

KANAAL 3: PAN (0-150°)

KANAAL 4: draairichting en –snelheid

b) Muziekgestuurd

Als u de muzieksturing gebruikt, zal het toestel reageren op de muziek door de ingebouwde microfoon. U kunt de

gevoeligheid aanpassen met de draaiknop achteraan het toestel. Regel de knop tot de reactie van het toestel

naar uw wensen is. Als u verschillende toestellen aan elkaar schakelt,zet de DIP-schakelaars dan zoals

aangegeven in de figuur bovenaan pagina 4.

6. Reiniging en onderhoud

1. Alle gebruikteschroeven moeten goed zijn aangespannen en mogen geen sporenvan roest vertonen.

2. Er mag geen vervorming optreden van de behuizing, kleurlenzen, bevestigingen en bevestigingsconstructie.

3. De voedingskabels mogen niet beschadigd zijn.Laat het toestel installeren door een geschoolde technicus.

4. De bewegende onderdelen mogen geen sporen van slijtage vertonen en moeten goed uitgebalanceerd zijn.

5. Veeg het toestel geregeld schoon met een propere en vochtige doek. Gebruik geen alcohol ofoplosmiddel om

het toestel te reinigen.

6. Alle herstellingen moeten worden uitgevoerd door een geschoolde technicus. De gebruiker mag indien nodig

enkel de lamp en de zekering vervangen (zie ook 4. Installatie op blz. 5).

7. Bestel eventuele reserveonderdelen bij uw plaatselijke verdeler.

1. Introduction

Nous vous remercions de votre achat ! Lisez attentivement ce manuel avant la mise en service de l’appareil. Vérifiez

d’abord l'état de l'appareil. S'il a été endommagé pendant le transport, ne l'installez pas et consultez votre revendeur.

2. Prescriptions de sécurité

- Quiconque associé à l’installation, l’opération et la maintenance de cet appareil doit être qualifié et doit suivre

minutieusement les instructions de ce manuel.

- Soyez prudentlors de l'installation : toucher un câble sous tension peut causer des électrochocs mortels.

- La garantie ne s'applique pas aux dommages survenus en négligeant certaines directives de ce manuel.

- Ne branchez pas l'appareil après exposition à des variations de température. Laissez l'appareil s’acclimater.

- Cet appareil fait partie de la classe de protection I ; c’est pourquoi il est essentiel que l’appareil soit mis à la masse.

- Le voltage disponible ne peut pas dépasser la tension maximale mentionnée dans les spécifications.

- Le câble d'alimentation ne peut pas être replissé ou endommagé.

- Tirez la fiche pour débrancher l'appareil ; non pas le câble. Débranchez l’appareil s’il n’est pas utilisé ou pour le nettoyer.

- Ne regardez pas directementla source lumineuse, comme ceci peut occasionner des crisesd'épilepsie chez des

personnes sensibles.

- La première mise en service peut s’accompagner d’un peu de fumée ou d’une odeur particulière. C’est normal ; la

fumée ou l’odeur disparaîtra graduellement.

- Ne touchez pas l’appareil pendant qu’il est en marche. L’extérieur chauffe et un contact peu causer des brûlures.

- Les dommages occasionnéspar des modifications à l'appareil du côté du client ne tombent pas sous la garantie.

Tenez l’appareil hors de portée d’enfants et de personnes non qualifiées.

3. Directives générales

- Cet appareil est un effet lumineux pour usage professionnel dans des discothèques, des théâtres, etc. Employez

cet appareil à l'intérieur et uniquement avec une source de courant CA de max. 230Vac/50Hz.

- Un effet lumineux n’est pas conçu pour une opération continue.Des pauses régulières prolongerontsa vie.

- Evitez de secouer l'appareil ettraitez l'appareil avec circonspection pendantl'installation et l'opération.

- Choisissez un lieu de montage où l’appareil est protégé contre la poussière, l’humidité et des températures

extrêmes. Respectez une distance minimum de 0.5m entre la sortie lumière du projecteur et la surface cible.

- Fixez l’appareil à l’aide d’un câble de sécurité (VDLSC7 ou VDLSC8).

- Familiarisez-vous avec le fonctionnement de l'appareil avant de l’utiliser. Ne permettez pas aux personnes non

qualifiées d'opérer cet appareil.La plupart des dégâts sont causés par un usage non professionnel.

- Transportez l'appareil dans son emballage originel.

- Toute modification de l’appareil estinterdite pour des raisons de sécurité.

- N’utilisez votre VDP150CC qu’à sa fonction prévue. Tout autre usage peut causer des courts-circuits, des brûlures,

des électrochocs etc. Un usage impropre annule d'office la garantie.

4. Installation

a) La Lampe

- Déconnectez l’appareil du réseau électrique avant d’installer ou de remplacer une lampe.

- Remplacez toute lampe déformée ou endommagée.

- Laissez refroidir la lampe avant de la remplacer. Retenez qu’une lampe peut chauffer jusqu’à 700°C.

- Evitez de toucher une lampe halogène les mains nues. Remplacez l’ampoule à l’aide d’un chiffon.

- N’installez aucune lampe dont la puissance dépasse la puissance maximum comme cesampoules deviennent

plus chaudes que la température maximale prévue, ce qui peut endommager l’appareil.

- Insérez une ampoule 15V/150W GZ6.35 (code LAMP150/15):

1. Dévissez les vis au dos de l’appareil et ouvrez le couvercle.

2. Enlevez l’ancienne ampoule si applicable, et mettez la nouvelle.

3. Refermez le couvercle et serrez les vis.

Remarques: Il est interdit d’opérer l’appareil si le couvercle n’est pas en place.

b) Le Fusible

- Débranchez l’appareil du réseau électrique avant de remplacer le fusible.

- Si la lampe est grillée, le fusible au panneau arrière de la base doit probablement également être remplacé.

- Remplacez un fusible sauté par un exemplaire identique (cf. 7.Spécifications techniques, page 10) :

1. Tirez le porte-fusible du dos de la base de l’appareil.

2. Enlevez l’ancien fusible et remplacez-le.

3. Remettezle porte-fusible.

c) L’appareil

- Un technicien qualifié doit installer cet appareil,en respectant EN 60598-2-17 et les autres normes applicables.

- La construction portante de l’appareil doit être capable de supporter 10 x le poids de l’appareil pendant une

heure, sans qu’une déformation de la construction en résulte.

- Fixez l’appareil à l’aide d’une fixation secondaire (p.ex. un câble de sécurité).

- Evitez de vous positionner en dessous de l’appareil pour l’enlever ou lors du montage ou nettoyage. Un

technicien qualifié doit réviser l’appareil avant la mise en service.Organisez une révision une fois par an.

- Installez l’appareil hors de portée de personnes non autorisées. Evitez les endroits populeux.

- L’installation de cet appareil exige une solide expérience pratique : le calcul de la charge maximale de la

construction, les matériaux d’installation requis etc. De tempsen temps, un technicien qualifié doit vérifier la

construction portante et l’appareil même. N’essayez pas d’installer cet appareil vous-même si vous n’avez pas

les qualifications requises ; une installation incorrecte peutentraîner des blessures.

- Enlevez tout matériau inflammable dans un rayon de 50cm autour de l’appareil.

- Demander à un électricien qualifié d’établir la connexion électrique.

- Branchez l’appareil sur le réseau électrique par la fiche d’alimentation. Installez un interrupteur avec une

distance minimale de 3mm entre les contacts dans le cas où l’appareil doit être branché directementau réseau.

De préférence,des effets lumineux ne sontpas connectés à un bloc de puissance.

- Un expert doit approuver l’installation avant qu’elle puisse être prise en service.

5. Emploi

a) Contrôlé par DMX

Vous pouvez déterminer l’adresse de départ DMX du contrôleur par les 9 interrupteurs DIP.

Cet appareil a 4 canaux; c’est pourquoi vous devez utiliser ces réglages quand vous les attachez: projecteur 1 =

adresse 1,projecteur 2 = adresse 5, projecteur 3 = adresse 9 etc.

Vous trouverez un aperçu des réglages en haut de la page 3.

Vous pouvez connecter les appareils par les connecteurs XLR.Une représentation des connecteurs etde la

manière de connecter les appareils se trouve au milieu de la page 3.

Mettez un terminateur sur la sortie DMX du dernier appareil dans la chaîneDMX. Un terminateur est un

connecteur XLR avec une résistance de 120ohm (1/4W) entre lespins 2 et 3. Vous pouvez le fabriquer vous-

même avec un connecteur XLR mâle.

Cet appareil a 4 canaux :

CANAL 1:sélectionne 1 des 8 couleurs ou éteint la lampe

CANAL 2:sélectionne 1 des 12 gobos

CANAL 3:PAN (0-150°)

CANAL 4:direction et vitesse de rotation

b) Opération piloté par la musique

Quand vous utilisez le pilotage par la musique, l’appareil réagira à la musique par le microphone incorporé. Vous

pouvez régler la sensitivité par moyen du réglage rotatif à la face arrière de l’appareil. Tournez le bouton jusqu’à

ce que la réaction de l’appareil vous convient. Quand vous voulez enchaîner plusieurs appareils, mettez les

interrupteurs DIP comme indiqué dans la figure en haut de la page 4.

6. Nettoyage et entretien

1. Serrez les écrous et les vis et vérifiez qu’elles ne sont pas rouillées.

3. Les câbles d'alimentation ne peuvent pas être endommagés. Un technicien qualifié doit installer l’appareil.

5. Essuyez l’appareil régulièrement à l’aide d’un chiffon propre et humide. Evitez l’usage d’alcool et de solvants.
