T8-S Topside Installation
7
Topside Control Installation
The T8-S topside should be installed on an outward facing edge of the spa
so it’s not subject to trapped steam/moisture under the cover, as shown:
Failure to do so will result in the need to prematurely replace the graphic
decal assembly on the face of the topside control.
The T8-S topside control requires just a single 1.75” hole to be cut out of
the shell of the hot tub for installation, as shown:
Once ready to install, plug one end of the topside cable into the back of
the T8-S, snake the cable through the cutout in the shell and down to the
control box, and plug the opposite end of the topside cable into the control
box. Afx the topside by peeling off the paper over the adhesive tape on
the back of the topside, than pressing it rmly into place, slowly pressing
rmly all around the perimeter to assure a good bond to the shell.

Using The T8-S Topside
9
Using The T8-S Topside
T8-S topsides use United Spa Controls’ patented technology.
This hybrid switching technology marries the satisfaction of having a
physical button to press, with the longevity and reliability of touch-panel
switching system with no moving parts to break down over time.
If your button presses are not registering, make sure that you are pushing
the raised buttons completely at against the panel, and that you are
waiting a second between button presses.
Upon Power-Up
Whenever the T8-S topside is powered on, the unit will ash ‘T8’ followed
by the units rmware version number (Example: ‘T808’) three times while
it starts up. All congurable settings are saved to permanent memory, the
only thing that needs to be set upon power-up of a T8-S topside that has
already been congured previously is the current time (it will default to 12
AM upon power-up).
Checking Software Version After Power-up
The software version can be accessed after initial power-up by simply
pressing and holding the ‘Aux’ button until display reads ‘PL-1’, followed
by pressing the Light button. The display will then, as it did at start up, ash
‘T8’ followed but the rmware version number three times. For example, a
T8-S with rmware version 8 would ash ‘T808’ three times.
NOTE: Do NOT connect/disconnect the T8-S topside while the control box
is powered. Always make sure the power is shut off at the breaker before
removing/installing a topside, as to avoid damaging the electronics.
