1. Foryoursafetyandtoensuresafe,efcientuseof
theequipmentdescribedinthismanual,makesure
youhavecarefullyreadthismanualandareperfectly
familiar with the instructions given before you
install the load limiter.A copy of this manual must
be available at all times to equipment operators.
Additionalcopiescanbesuppliedonrequest.
2. Donotusetheloadlimiterifanylabelonthedevice
or any of its accessories is not clearly legible. Do
notusetheloadlimiterifanymarkings,asindicated
at the end of this manual, are not clearly legible.
Identicallabelscanbesuppliedonrequestandmust
befastenedtotheloadlimiterbeforeyoucontinueto
usethedevice.
3. Make sure that all persons who will be using the
loadlimiter areperfectly familiarwith theoperating
methodsandthesafetyrequirementsinvolvedwhen
usingthisdevice.Thismanualmustbeavailableto
allusersofthedevice.Yourloadlimitermustonlybe
usedundercontrolled,supervisedconditions.
4. The load limiter covered by this manual must only
be installed and set into service under conditions
ensuring appropriate installer safety in compliance
withapplicationregulations.
5. Eachtime,beforeusingtheloadlimiter,checkthat
the load limiter and its accessories are in visibly
goodcondition.Neverusea device whichisnotin
visiblygoodcondition.Returntheloadlimitertothe
manufacturer for overhaul if any malfunctions are
observed.
6. Takeallnecessarystepstopreventshockorimpact
toyourloadlimiter.
7. Theloadlimitermustneverbeusedforanypurpose
otherthanthosedescribedinthismanual.Neveruse
theloadlimiterforaloadexceedingtheworkingload
limitindicatedonthedevice.Initsstandardversion,
theloadlimitermustneverbeusedinanexplosive
atmosphere.
8. Theloadlimitermustnotbeusedinaman-liftingline
withoutrstcheckingtheutilisationfactorsrequired
toensurethesafetyofpersons,andmoregenerally,
theapplicablesafetyregulationsfortheloadlinein
whichthedevicewillbeused.
9. Tractel® shallnotbeliableforanyactions resulting
fromuseofthisdeviceinaninstallationconguration
notdescribedinthismanual.
10. Tractel®shallnotbeliableforanyactionsresulting
from unauthorised modications to the device or
removalofanypartsfromthedevice.
11. Tractel® shall not be liable from any actions
resulting from any disassembly operations or
repairs performed on the device without Tractel®
authorisation, especially as concerns replacement
ofgenuinesparepartsbypartsfromanothersource.
12. For denitive removal from service of the device,
the device must be scrapped under conditions
preventing re-use of the device. All environment
protectionregulationsmustbeobserved.
13. Before using this device with complementary
equipment relaying its signals on an operating
system,theuserorinstallermustrstensurethat
ananalysishasbeencarriedouttodeterminethe
specicrisksinvolvedintheoperatingconguration
implemented,andallappropriatesafetymeasures
mustbetakenaccordingly.
14. The load limiter covered by the manual satises
therequirementsoftheEuropeanregulations,and
mustbeveriedforcompliancewiththeregulations
ofanyothercountryinwhichitmaybeused,prior
to commissioning and use. All applicable safety
regulationsmustbeobserved.
2. Denitions and pictograms
2.1. Denitions
“Product”:Equipment element or assembly dened
on the cover page, supplied complete in its standard
version,orasoneofthevariousmodelsdescribed.
“Installation”:Refers to all the operations required
to place the complete product in a condition for
commissioning (or in a condition for connection to
other elements for commissioning), starting from the
conditioninwhichtheproductisdelivered.
“User”:Person or department in charge of
managementandsafeuseoftheproductdescribedin
thismanual.
“Integrator”:Qualiedpersonorservicetoensurethe
compatibilityofthepresentsecuritysystemwithrespect
totheinstallationandcompatiblewiththeconditionsof
use.
“Technician”:Qualied person in charge of the
maintenance operations described and authorized to
theuserby thismanual;the technicianisunderstood
to be familiar and skilled with the product covered in
thismanual.
“Operator”:Person or department in charge of
operatingtheproduct incompliancewith thepurpose
forwhichtheproductisdesigned.
