OPER TION
• Before using your app iance for the first time, check if it is c ean
(see “Maintenance and c eaning”) as it comes into direct
contact with bread. Check if any object has fa en into the s ot.
• For safety reasons, connect the app iance on y to a mains
earthed wa socket.
• P ace the bread s ices in the s ot (for the French bread, cut a oaf
shorter than the s ot, then cut it in two pieces a ong its ength.).
Your app iance is provided to receive French bread, but a so
pieces of toast or other bread s ices if their thickness and their
ength are shorter than the one of the s ot.
• Press down the bread carriage hand e unti it stops (in the same
time, the grid inside the s ot wi tighten around the bread in order
to keep it away from the heating wires). Then re ease the pressure
and the hand e wi stay in the ower position, which means that
the heating process has begun. If the hand e comes up
immediate y, check if the app iance is p ugged in as it b ocks
when the unit is p ugged in.
• You can adjust the browning intensity to obtain a more or ess
toasted bread by positioning the browning contro se ector to
one of the degrees marked from 1 to 5. Therefore you on y have
to turn c ockwise to increase the intensity, and antic ockwise to
decrease it. The higher the number is, the more toasted the
bread wi be.
• During operation, if you think that the bread is toasted enough or
for another reason, you can break the heating process, simp y by
pressing the cance button.
• The reheat button a ows you to reheat a ready toasted bread or
to toast bread which is not toasted enough during a short time
without modifying the browning degree.
• The defrost button a ows you to toast the bread that has been
frozen beforehand.
• If you want to reheat bage s, push the "BAGEL" button.
• A ways unp ug the app iance after use and et it coo down
before hand ing or storing it.
• A cord winder consisting of 4 hooks is foreseen on the bottom of
the app iance. When you store your app iance, wind the cord
around the hooks.
