Stovey appliances are designed to be operated with the re door(s) closed at all times, unless
refuelling (when alight) or cleaning (when cold). Do not leave the appliance unattended for an
extended length of time with the door(s) open.
Prior to lighting your Stovey for the rst time, please ensure with the installer that:
• All installation and building work is complete.
• Your chimney is sound, has been swept and is free from obstruction.
• Building regulations and local by-laws have been upheld during installation.
• The chimney draw has been checked and is within specication (between 0.1mb and 0.15mb, or 10-
15 pascals). This ensures that your Stovey will operate as designed, and eciently.
• A carbon monoxide detector is correctly installed in the same room as the appliance.
The ue draught should be checked under re at high output; if it exceeds the recommended
maximum, a draught stabiliser must be tted so that the rate of burning can be controlled, and
to prevent over-ring. Consult your local dealer, stockist or engineer should you have any doubts
regarding the suitability of your chimney. If your ue draught is below the minimum recommendation,
it may be necessary to increase the vertical chimney height, add additional ue insulation or add a
purpose-built cowl to the top of the chimney (e.g. an anti-down draft cowl to eliminate wind-induced
down draft).
Ensure that you have fully read and understood these instructions before operating the appliance.
