PERSONAL SAFETY ITEMS
1. Do not use tool prior to reading the Owners Manual.
!
WARNINGS
2. Always wear eye protection that confirms to ANSI requirements (Z87.1) and
provides protection against flying particles both from the front and side. Eye
protection should be worn by the operator and by others in the work area. Eye
protection is required to protect against flying fasteners and debris that could
possibly cause severe eye injury.
3. The employer is responsible to enforce the use of eye protection equipment by the tool
operator and all other personnel in the work area.
4. To prevent accidental injuries:
– Handle the tool with care
– Always assume that the tool contains fasteners
– Always disconnect the air hose from the STINGER™ RT2 when:
• loading nails and/or caps
• performing inspections, maintenance or repairs
• clearing a nail or collated cap jam
• the tool is not in use
• leaving the work area
• moving the STINGER RT2 to another work location
• handing the STINGER RT2 to another person
• storing the tool
– Never point the tool toward yourself or anyone else

AIR SUPPLY AND CONNECTIONS
• Use only clean, regulated compressed air as a power source for this tool. Do not use bottle
gases, combustible gases or oxygen as a power source for the tool as the tool may explode.
• Do not use air supply pressures that exceed 120 PSI (8.28 bar or 8.4 kg/mm).
• Do not exceed the recommended maximum operating air pressure as tool wear will be
greatly increased. The air supply must be capable of maintaining the operating air pressure
of the tool. Pressure drops in the air supply can reduce the tools driving power.
• Use a pressure regulator and gauge to allow visual inspection of the air pressure being
delivered to the tool.
• Use air hoses that have rated pressures of up to 150% of the maximum pressure that can be
generated by the power source. The supply hose should contain 3/8fittings that will provide
quick disconnecting from the male plug on the tool.
• Use quick connect fittings that allow the tool to be unhooked from the air supply quickly and
easily.
• Do not use fittings that will not allow the tool to exhaust when the air supply is disconnected.

• Never point the tool toward yourself or any other persons.
• Never cycle the tool unless it is in contact with the work-piece.

OPERATING THE TOOL
3. The STINGER™ RT2 Air Preparation
Unit includes an Oil Mist Lubricator for
automatic nailer oiling and a Filter
Regulator to assist in supply air moisture
separation. Recommended pressure
setting on the Air Preparation Unit is
95-105 psi.
The Oil Mist Lubricator is adjusted at the
factory to supply approximately one drop
of oil for each fifty nails driven. A screw
located at the top of the Oil Mist
Lubricator allows for automatic nailer
oiling adjustments. Turn clockwise to
decrease, and counter clockwise to
increase.
3/8NPT male plug (not included)
Oil Mist Lubricator Filter Regulator
Unscrew the Oil Mist Lubricator site glass to service with non-detergent pneumatic tool
lubricant. The Filter Regulator site glass can be unscrewed or the button on the bottom
can be pushed to empty condensation.
1. Disconnect the air hose from the tool when:
• loading nails and/or caps
• performing inspection, maintenance or repair
• clearing a nail or collated cap jam
• the tool is not in use
• leaving the work area
• moving the tool to another work location
• handling the STINGER RT2 to another person
• storing the tool
2. For optimal performance, clean and lubricate cap feed moving parts and feed path before
each day of use with a dry silicone lubricant.
4. Depth of drive for nailing is adjusted primarily with the air pressure regulator; coarse
adjustments can be made by moving the Adjustable Wheel Assembly (#136).

OPERATING THE TOOL
6. The STINGER RT2 can be used in an automatic mode or manual mode. Setting the
Auto/Manual Toggle Valve to Manual (MAN) requires the Pushbutton Actuator to be
depressed each time the user desires to place a cap and nail. With Auto/Manual
Toggle Valve in the AUTO position and the push button actuator depressed, a cap will
be placed every 9or 18inches depending on the Cap Spacing Toggle Valve position
selected (9or 18.) A 6pattern is available only with the ten timing button pitch
wheel. For 6spacing, turn all ten timing buttons in and place the toggle switch in the
18position. The STINGER RT2 is now set to nail on 6and 9.
Note: Timing buttons should contact ball portion of the valve only. Turning them
in too far will result in valve unit damage.

Toggle Valve (Auto/Manual) Toggle Valve (Cap Spacing)
4. The STINGER RT2 is a forward
operating tool The caps drag
behind the feed system as the tool
is pushed forward. Reverse
movement may cause jamming.
5. Feed the air hose through the
Hose Holder to aid in air hose
management.
This tool is set up for a 9and 18
pattern. You can change to a 6and 9
pattern by turning in the acutators with
the 5/16 allen wrench supplied with the
tool. Check to make sure the actuators
do not hit the casing for the roller ball
valves as this will damage them.
The jam nuts are in a preset position so
do not turn jam nuts on the screws.
