service

problem,

perform

the

following

safety

checks

before

releasing

the

set

the

customer:

Check

the

area

your

repair

for

unsoldered

poorly-soldered

connections.

Check

the

entire

board

surface

for

solder

splashes

and

bridges.

Check

the

interboard

wiring

ensure

that

wires

are

“pinched”

contact

high-wattage

resistors.

Check

that

all

control

knobs,

shields,

covers,

ground

straps,

and

mounting

hardware

have

been

replaced.

absolutely

certain

that

you

have

replaced

all

the

insulators.

Look

for

unauthorized

replacement

parts,

par-

ticularly

transistors,

that

were

installed

during

repair.

Point

them

out

the

customer

and

recommend

their

replacement.

Look

for

parts

which,

though

functioning,

show

obvious

signs

deterioration.

Point

them

out

the

customer

and

recommend

their

replace-

ment.

Check

the

line

cord

for

cracks

and

abrasion.

Recommend

the

replacement

any

such

line

cord

the

customer.

Check

the

condition

the

monopole

antenna

(if

any).

Make

sure

the

end

not

broken

off,

and

has

the

plastic

cap

it.

Point

out

the

danger

impalement

broken

antenna

customer,

and

recommend

the

antenna’s

replacement.

Check

the

B+

and

see

they

are

the

values

specified.

Make

sure

your

instruments

are

accurate;

suspicious
