Blade will not turn; snow will not come out

Check power is on and machine is

BLADE CHANGE INSTRUCTIONS

Raise Ice Foot to the top using front switch

Disconnect Block Shaver from power

Unfasten Ice Cabinet housing wing nuts

Lift Ice Cabinet cover over actuators

Remove both rubber stoppers and blade housing

Unlock blade hole tab (bend out or clip)

Rotate blade clockwise and lift off Paddle Wheel

Replace blade if needed or rotate to next hole

Secure blade by counter-clockwise rotation until

firmly seated in all blade holes (narrow sides)

Bend blade hole tab firmly across hole opening

Check for loose or foreign objects on top of unit

Replace blade housing and Rubber Stoppers

Slide Ice Cabinet housing down over blade

Secure cabinet housing wing nuts

Power up Block Shaver and test

Steps:

Snowie Block Shaver

SET UP

Set up and take down is easy to complete using the following steps:

[A] Place the Drip Pan on a counter or table edge so the drip hose is

not pinched and can easily drain. Place hose end in catch container or drain.

Set the Block Shaver on the Drip Pan. NOTE: It will tilt slightly forward.

[B] Grip the Ice Cabinet front cover and lift over the Rubber Stopper

[C] Raise Ice Cabinet front up and then tilt the top 90 degrees and slide it

horizontal to the back of the unit to secure it open.

TAKE DOWN

Raise the Ice Foot by placing the Switch in the LOAD position. Re-

move the ice. Wipe up excess ice and water from around the Drip

Pan. Allow all parts to air dry.

When transporting, use the Carry Handles to carry the Block Shaver

with the Ice Cabinet completely closed, the Foot Pedal removed,

and the power cord wrapped securely.

With the Ice Cabinet front open, press the Switch to LOAD

raising the Ice Foot. It will automatically stop at the top.

Once the Ice Cabinet cover is securely seated, stepping on the

Foot Pedal will spin the blade and shave snow from the ice.

[D]

Place the ice block in the Ice Cabinet so that all ice block corners are

resting flat on the blade. Make sure only ice is in the ice shaving chamber

(e.g., no bag clips etc.) otherwise, the blade can be damaged and will need to

be replaced.

[E] With the Ice Cabinet cover up so the magnetic sensor is not engaged,

flip the front Switch down (FOOT) and press the Foot Pedal to lower the Ice

Foot Actuators until the Ice Foot touches the ice block securely holding ice.

[F] Close the Ice Cabinet cover completely. Make sure the Ice Pressure

Flap holds the ice securely and that the Rubber Stoppers are inside the guide

holes. Press down as needed until securely seated. The block shaver will not

function until the magnetic sensor is engaged with the Ice Cabinet cover.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Snowie Block Shaver

Proper cleaning is an important task to ensure sanitary conditions are main-

tained.The materials required are: washing rags and scrub brush, soap so-

lution, rinse water, and sanitizing solution (bleach or other approved solution).

Correct cleaning steps for all surfaces include washing with soap, rinsing off

soap with plenty of clean water, sanitizing, and allowing to air dry. Carefully

inspect and clean the following:

External surfaces including:

Power wire

Foot pedal

Air pressure switch and hose

Drip pan and cup holder

Ice cabinet and covers

Snow exit chute

Snow catch flap

Drip pan hose

Remove drip pan hose and clean inter-

nal hose surface by pouring solutions

through the hose.

Dissemble Ice Cabinet for access to the

internal areas:

Ice foot

Actuators

Ice pressure flaps

Remove blade protective components

Blade housing

Paddle wheel

NOTE: The paddle wheel can be

removed by an abrupt horizontal

clock-wise blow with a rubber mallet (or

similar) to the flat paddle wheel edge.

This will allow the paddle wheel to be

unscrewed from the motor threads. Do

not unscrew bolts from Paddle Wheel.

This section is for internal components.

Be careful that no internal components

are damaged or any wires loosened.

Lay the shaver on the back surface for

access to clean:

Shaver foot rests and support bars

Inside motor case surfaces

Remove ice block, raise Ice Foot and then disconnect power source.

Once the cleaning and

sanitizing has been accom-

plished, reassemble the

shaver using the reverse

steps used to prepare the

shaver for cleaning.

Follow the blade change

instructions to ensure the

blade is correctly assem-

bled for safe use.

Ensure no parts are left

over after reassembling the

Shaver prior to powering up

for a test.

DESCRIPTION

The Snowie Block Shaver is uniquely designed to create

the finest, fluffiest snow from common block ice. The flat-

blade planer design makes it the safest block shaver available.

The adjustable torque and speed, coupled with hands-free op-

eration, will provide years of superior, care-free production.

Health codes have been incorporated into the design

for worry-free commercial applications. The Snowie

Block Shaver is NSF approved. The patent and unique pat-

ent-pending designs (including ice cabinet and guides,

snow catch, blade, paddle-wheel, and snow-shaper) pro-

vide for a convenient, safe, efficient, and sanitary operation.

Electrical Options: The Snowie Block Shaver is available in

three options.

Technical Dimensions: The standard Snowie Block Shaver

Blade Dimensions: The Snowie Block Shaver blade is 10.25

inches in diameter. It is mounted by three bolts. The blade

can be rotated up to three times for a fresh blade surface be-

fore replacement.

Ice Block Dimensions: The Snowie Block Shaver will accept

both solid-clear block ice (best shaved snow results) and com-

pressed ice-cube block ice up to a maximum 6 inches deep by

6 inches wide by 12 inches tall (6x6x12).

MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

Regular and thorough maintenance will ensure many years of

worry-free performance and multitudes of satisfied customers.

Remember to disconnect power source before any maintenance.

Suggested Maintenance Schedule for proper care is:

raise ice foot all the way up for blade inspections

remove power and check blade tab. Secure as

needed (See blade change instructions for details)

wipe down case exterior, snow chutes, flap, etc.

tip forward to drain water away from motor and dry

out blade and ice cabinet

When cleaning inside the cabinet or making

adjustments, be careful with the internal

controls and wiring especially the mag-

netic switch. Extra care should be given

to prevent damage to any internal control

components or connections.

Lose wires or connections will impact the

Block Shaver operating performance.

Actuator speed and duration control adjust-

ments may be accomplished by the Owner.

Note: optimal performance may be impacted

by making changes and adjustments to

internal components.

QUICK GUIDE

Snowie Block Shaver

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Aftersetupiscomplete,fliptheSwitchtotheFOOT(down)position,

plug the Foot Pedal in fully, and make sure there are no line kinks.

2. Using one hand, place the cup edge into the depression of the

Snow Shaper with the bottom of the cup towards you. Use your other

hand to pull the clear Snow Catch around bottom of the cup to direct

the snow into the cup.

Holding the cup too close to the chute will clog the exit chute

Holding the Snow Catch too loosely, will allow snow to escape

Pedal, the blade will quickly slow then stop.

As the blade spins, snow will be created

ing. Adjust Speed Control for best snow quality versus pro-

duction speed (slower speed provides better snow)

4. When the cup is full of snow, use the Snow Shaper to form the

Snowie topandtheedgeoftheSnowShapertoscrapeofftheexcess

snow from around the rim of the cup.

5. Do not compressthesnowtoo tightlyintheSnowShaper;aspoon

or spoon straw should slide easily to the bottom of the cup

6. To flavor the Snowie, pour syrup on the top in one spot until it is

visible at the edge. At this point, you will know the syrup has been

distributed evenly.

Syrup will continue to mix for a few minutes after being poured

An 8 oz. Snowie will need approximately 3 oz. of syrup

•

The Foot Pedal has two stages when depressed: 1) blade rotation

(motor on), and 2) actuator lowering for shaving. Careful pressure

control can maintain blade rotation without the actuator lowering.

Duringoperation,snowispropelledthroughthechutetoeasily fillthecup.

The longer the foot pedal is fully depressed, the more the actuators de-

press the ice on the blade to shave snow. Fully letting up the Foot Pedal

results in the spinning blade slowing until it stops.
