The AQUOS®D85U series, utilizes Sharp’s proprietary Advanced Super View
Panel with Spectral Contrast Engine UD (Ultra Dark), providing high Contrast
Ratio, 4ms response time, Active Color, 120Hz and a Slim Line design.The 10-bit
ASV LCD panel can accurately reproduce up to 1.07 billion colors. In addition to
stellar picture quality and a stunning design, energy consumption is reduced by
20% over previous models. The 5 HDMI™ inputs give ample connection options
for all HD sources.

All models in the D65 series have built-in ATSC / QAM / NTSC tuners and
include 5 HDMI™ inputs, compatible with 1080p signals as well as 2 HD
1080p component video inputs. The ASV’s Spectral Contrast Engine UD (Ultra
Dark), provides high Contrast Ratio, fast response time and a Slim Line design.
The integrated circuitry helps to reduce energy consumption by 20% over
previous models.

A 10-bit panel can reproduce and display approximately 1.07 billion colors as compared to
an 8-bit panel which can produce 16 million colors. More colors mean smoother transitions
between elements on the screen and more detailed imagery.
Response Time
Fast pixel response time provides sharp edges and clean lines for fast moving objects, like a
hockey puck moving across the ice. The faster the response time, the less visible motion blur.
