Splash Guard Replacement Instructions

i180 Model Fenders

LIMITED WARRANTY

The Segway HT Splash Guards are an “Accessory” covered for 90 days under the Segway®Human

Transporter Limited Warranty (copy delivered with the kit.)

> (2) Splash Guards

> (4) Fender Tabs

> (4) T-20 Drive Fender Fasteners

Note: Replace any fasteners you remove

with the new fasteners included in this kit.

Tools Required

> 16 mm deep socket

> 50 N-m Torque Wrench to accommodate

the 16 mm deep socket

> Rubber Mallet

> T-20 Six-Lobe bit (Torx T-20)

> 1.5 N-m Torque Wrench to

accommodate the Six-Lobe bit

Splash Guards

Wheel Insert Replacement Instructions

Fender Tab

Remove the Tire/Wheel Assembly

Step 1 Tip the Segway HT onto its side so

that the outside of one wheel lays flat

against a clean, smooth surface

Step 2 Remove the Wheel Nut with a 16 mm

deep socket wrench. Hold the wheel

from rotating and turn the wrench

counterclockwise. (This may require

considerable force.)

Step 3 Strike the outside edge of the tire with

a rubber mallet to unseat the wheel

hub taper. (This may require multiple

attempts as the wheel hub is seated

tightly into the Gearbox taper.)

Step 4 Lift off the wheel.

Step 5 Clean any debris from inside of

Gearbox taper and outside of wheel

hub.

Remove the Splash Guard

Step 1 Remove the two Splash Guard

fasteners using a T-20 six-lobed bit

(Torx T-20).

Step 2 Remove the two oblong Fender Tabs

that are between the fasteners and

the Fender, and save these for reuse

when you install the Splash Guards.

Step 3 Remove the Splash Guard

Wheel Insert Replacement Instructions

Install the Splash Guard

Step 4 Position the Splash Guard into the

position you select on the Fender.

(For best spray protection, install the

Splash Guard in the rear position.)

Step 5 Hold the two Fender Tabs in the slots

in the Fender, and thread the two

fasteners through the Fender Tabs

and Fender and into the Splash

Guard.

Step 6 Torque to 1.5 N-m using a T-20 six-

lobed bit (Torx T-20). Over tightening

could strip aluminum threads.

Reseat the Tire/Wheel Assembly

Step 1 Place the Wheel hub opening over

the Gearbox drive shaft; rotate the

wheel while pressing down until the

wheel seats.

Step 2 Thread on the wheel nut and tighten

with the socket wrench.

Step 3 Torque to 50.0 N-m.
