Safety Precautions
Please read these installation instructions carefully before
putting the equipment into operation for the first time.
Observe the safety instructions.
Add: The battery pack may only be used with Sartorius
devices that explicitly name this battery pack YRB11Z
as an accessory in their manual.
Safety
The device complies with EU directives and standards for
electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility. Improper
use or handling can, however, result in damage and/or injury.
Any improper use or operation of the device, i.e., that is not
consistent with the instructions, will result in forfeiture of all
claims under the manufacturer’s warranty.
Prevent the risk of electric short circuit.
3 If the battery pack becomes damaged, do not touch the
battery leakage directly:
Electrolyte leakage can cause the skin discomfort.
In case the electrolyte comes into contact with the
eyes, rinse with water as soon as possible. Do not rub
eyes. Seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Danger of Explosion!
1 Do not use this equipment in hazardous areas in which
explosive materials are present.
Make sure that the voltage rating printed on the AC
2 adapter is identical to your local mains voltage.

3 When used in environment with electrostatic charges
the connected device should be grounded.
2 Do not operate the device if the housing or AC adapter
is damaged. Immediately disconnect the damaged
device from the power by pulling the plug.
2 Do not expose the equipment to extreme temperatures,
aggressive chemical vapors, moisture, shocks, vibration,
or strong electromagnetic fields. Observe the conditions
of operation described in the specifications!
2 The operator shall be solely responsible for any
modifications to the equipment and for connecting any
cables or equipment not supplied by Sartorius.
Information on operational quality is available upon
request from Sartorius.
You should only use peripherals supplied by Sartorius.
Do not compromise the IP protection of the device.
Do not allow liquids to enter the device.
2 Before cleaning the AC adapter or the device:
Unplug from the mains power.
3 Lay the cables where they pose no risk of causing
someone to trip.
Please recharge your battery pack every six months even
when you do not use it for a prolonged period in order to
ensure proper product performance.

B flashing Less than 5% power level

C on About 25% power level
C+D on About 50% power level

C+D+E+F on Over 95% power level
Press the on/off button briefly: the number of LED lights
will show you the power level.

Installation and Operation
This battery pack is designed for use with Sartorius AC
adapter GPP8 and for connection to devices that use this
AC adapter. Use the AC adapter GPP8 that was supplied
with your device to charge the battery pack.
For details on the AC adapter, see chapter Accessories.
Charging the battery pack while supply power to your
device (DC IN and DC OUT)
1. Connect the AC adapter to the DC IN jack of the battery
pack.
Connect the Sartorius AC adapter to the AC power source.
2. Connect one end of the DC output cable to the DC OUT
jack of battery pack. Connect the other end of the DC
output cable to the DC IN jack of your device.

3. Press the on/off button for
about 3 sec.: the battery
pack will turn on.
4. The LED “B” will light up
steady in red while supply-
ing power to your device.
Meanwhile, the C, D, E and
F LED lights will light up in
sequence while the battery
pack is charging.
5. The C, E, E and F LED lights
will light up steady when the
battery pack is fully charged.
6. If AC power is not available,
it will automatically switch
from the AC supply source
to the battery pack to supply
power to your device.
7. Press the on/off button for
about 3 sec.: the battery
pack will turn off, and the
device will be disconnected
from power.

Disposal
The packaging consists of environmentally friendly
materials that can serve as secondary raw materials.
If the packaging is no longer required, it can be disposed
of in Germany at no charge via the dual system of the
company VfW (contract number D-59101-2009-1129).
Otherwise, dispose of the material according to the
applicable local regulations for waste disposal.
The device, including accessories and batteries, should
not be disposed of as household waste. It should instead
be recycled as for electrical and electronic devices.

please contact our local service representatives.

Devices contaminated with hazardous materials (NBC
contamination) will not be accepted for repair or disposal.
Detailed information with service addresses for returning
your device for repair or disposal can be found on our
website (www.sartorius.com) or requested from a Sartorius
Service Center.
