1.2 General safety information

electrical devices or
equipment, including
switches or domestic ap-
pliances, etc., if you can
smell fuel or fumes. If you de-
tectanysuspicioussmells:
−Ventilate the room by opening all doors and
windows;
−Closethefuelshut-offcock;
−ReportthefaultimmediatelytotheRTechni-
calAssistanceServiceoraprofessionallyquali-
edheatingengineer.
0 Never clean or service theboilerwithout rst di-
sconnectingitfromthemainselectricitysupplyby
turningthemainpowerswitchOFF.
0 Neverpull,disconnect,ortwisttheelectricalcables
coming from the boiler even if it is disconnected
fromthemainselectricitysupply.
0 Do no obstruct or restrict the vents in the room
wheretheapplianceisinstalled.Adequateventi-
lationisessentialforcorrectcombustion.
0 Do not leave ammable sub-
stances or containers in the
room where the boiler is
installed.
0 Do not touch the boiler
when barefoot or wet.
0 Do not switch the boiler
off if outside temperature
dropsbelowZERO(riskoffre-
ezing).
9 This instruction manual and that for the installer
andTechnicalAssistanceServiceareintegralparts
of the boiler. They must be kept safe and must
ALWAYS accompany theboiler,evenif itissoldto
another owner or user or transferred to another in-
stallation. If you damage or lose this manual, order
a replacement immediately from your local R
TechnicalAssistanceCentre.
9 Thissystemmustbeinstalledbyalegallyqualied
heatingengineer(inItaly,thelawregulatingpro-
fessional heating engineers is Law 46 of the 5th
March 1990). On completion of
the installation, the installer
must issue the owner with
adeclaration of conformity
conrmingthattheinstal-
lationhasbeencompleted
to the highest standards
incompliancewiththein-
structions provided by R
in this instruction manual,
and that it conforms to all ap-
plicablelawsandstandards.
9 Ifyounoticeanywaterleakingfromtheboiler,di-
sconnectitimmediatelyfromthemainselectricity
supply,shutoffthewatersupply,andnotifyyour
localRTechnicalAssistanceCentreoraqualied
heating engineer immediately.
9 Periodicallycheckthatoperating
pressureinthewatercircuitis
over 1 bar. If water pressure
is consistently low, contact
R's Technical Assistance
Service or a professionally
qualiedheatingengineer.
9 If the boiler is not going to be
usedforanextendedperiodof
time,proceedasfollowstoprepa-
reitforshut-down:
−TurnthemainpowerswitchOFF
−Close the boiler's fuel cock and heating circuit
watercock
−Drain the central heating circuit if there is any
riskoffreezing.
9 Theboilermustonlybeusedforthepurposespeci-
edbyRandforwhichitisdesigned.Thema-
nufacturer declines all responsibility, contractual
orother,fordamagetopropertyorinjurytoper-
sons or animals caused by improper installation,
adjustment,maintenanceoruse.
Theoperationofanyappliancethatuseselectricalpowerdemandsthatanumberoffundamentalsafetyprecautions
berespected.
