FrostGuard, self-regulating heating cable for
anti-freeze protection of water pipes.

max. +65°C
Instructions for installation
FrostGuard is supplied wit 2 m of power cable
and a plug for temporary installation. T e cable
is non replaceable and t e entire eating cable
must be discarded if it is damaged.
CAUTION: Make sure that the heating cable is
not covered by material with heat resistance
less than +65°C. For permanent use, contact
your electrical contractors for permanent
installation in a box and with a thermostat.
Use a 30-mA GLCB or RCD. Tyco T ermal
Controls, international and local electrical
codes, and standards all require t e use of a
ground-fault equipment protection device on
eac eating cable circuit. Arcing may not be
stopped by conventional circuit breakers w ic
could result in a fire azard.
External installation
la. Tape t e eating cable to t e underside of
t e pipe. Use age-resistant tape, e.g. elec
trical tape.
2a. Insulate t e pipe. Select t e insulation
t ickness according to t e table.
3a. Connect to a wall socket.
Internal installation
lb. Fit t e Y-piece to t e pipe. T read t e
R20-connector onto t e eating cable. Use
a lubricant, suc as was ing up liquid, to
facilitate application of t e rubber packing.
Insert t e eating cable into t e Y-piece.
T e splice
between t e eating cable and cold cable
must not be inserted in t e pipe.
2b. Fully tig ten t e R20 connector.
3b. Insulate t e pipe. Select t e insulation
t ickness according to t e table.

Montageanleitung
FrostGuard ist mit einem 2 m langen
Ansc lusskabel und Sc uko-Stecker ver-
se en. Das Ansc lusskabel kann im Falle
einer Besc adigung nic t ersetzt werden.
Es muss das komplette Heizband inklu-
sive Ansc lussleitung ausgetausc t wer-
den. Frostguard istfuir voruberge ende
Anwendungen konzepiert.
WARNUNG: Stellen Sie sicher, dass das
Heizband nur mit Material abgedeckt/isoliert
wird, dass mindestens +65°C temperaturbe-
standig ist. Fur eine permanente Installation
sollten Sie einen Elektriker kontaktieren um
einen festen Anschluss und ein Thermostat
installieren zu lassen.
Der Einsatz eines 30-mA FI-Sc utzsc alters ist
vorgesc rieben. Tyco T ermal Controls, inter
national und lokale Normen und Vorsc riften
der Elektrotec nik, fordern den Einsatz eines
FI-Sc utzsc alters fur jeden Heizkreis. Der
Einsatz von Sic erungsautomaten allein kann
sic als nic t ausreic end erweisen, um das
Fortsc reiten von Lic tbogen zu ver indern;
dadurc kann Brandgefa r entste en.
Installation auf der Rohrleitung
la. Befestigen Sie das Heizband mit Klebeband
alle 30 cm an der Unterseite des Ro res.
2a. Isolieren Sie das Ro r und selektieren Sie
die Dammstarke gemaB Tabelle.
3a. Sc lieBen Sie das Heizband uber eine
Steckdose an AC 230 V Netzspannung an.
Installation in der Rohrleitung
lb. Installieren Sie die Y-Kupplung an der
Ro rleitung. Sc ieben Sie die R20-
Versc raubung uber das Heizband.
Benutzen Sie SpU lmittel um die
Gummidic tung leic ter sc ieben zu kon-
nen. Sc ieben Sie nun das
