TRANSPORTING YOUR QTAC
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
•Ensure that the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the QTAC carrying vehicle
is sufficient to support your QTAC unit plus any equipment, fluids and personnel
that you may wish to carry.
General QTAC Mounting and Fastening
•Mount the QTAC at the flanges (see Figure 1), located at the bottom of the skid.
Ensure that the bottom of the QTAC (including the mounting flanges) abuts a
firm, flat surface or rack. Avoid significant leveraging of the mounting flanges.
See Figure 1for examples of proper and improper mounting surfaces.

Special Precautions For Carrying a QTAC On Ride-On ATVs Or Side-By-
Side UTVs
•Ensure that the area to which you are securing your QTAC is an approved
loading area for your ATV or UTV.
IMPROPER
MOUNTING
SURFACE!

Page | 5
•Ensure that the weight of your QTAC does not exceed the maximum
recommended weight of the ATV or UTV loading area to which you are securing
your QTAC.
•The additional weight of your QTAC may result in a.) Poor steering response
and/or b.) An increased inclination for the wheels of the ATV or UTV to lift off the
ground. Therefore, the operator should spend some time operating the vehicle in
a safe area (e.g. wide and flat) once the QTAC has been properly secured and
loaded to ensure the vehicle operates in a safe manner. If the vehicle does not
operate in a safe manner, immediately recheck the GVWR calculations to ensure
that the QTAC unit is not overloading your vehicle. If the unsafe operation cannot
be corrected, do not carry your QTAC in this fashion.
•When carrying your QTAC unit on the rear rack of an ATV or in the bed of a UTV,
avoid steep side slopes. If an uphill must be traversed, it is recommend that you
back your ATV or UTV up the uphill to avoid the front wheels lifting on the uphill.

OPTIONAL ITEMS
Using the Oxygen Bottle Rack (Size ‘D’ Bottles)
If your QTAC is equipped with the optional oxygen bottle rack, it can be removed and
loaded using the following method.
1. The oxygen bottle rack uses a copolymer polypropylene frame, along with four
rubber retention straps. To remove the rack, first slide the attendant seat all the
way forward, then lift the rack out from behind the seat. The two straps attached
to the copolymer polypropylene rack are used to keep the bottles securely
fastened to the rack. (see Figure 2)

2. Slide the oxygen bottle (not provided) in so that the regulator (not shown) is
closest to the outside of your UTV’s bed, and strap it to the rack using the
corresponding retention strap (see Figure 3).
Note: When using only one bottle, it must be placed in the lower-most holder.

3. After the bottle(s) are fastened securely to the rack, lift the entire assembly into
position, placing it behind the attendant seat. Make sure the two lower straps
fastened to the base of the QTAC are positioned so that they can be wrapped
around the lower-most oxygen bottle. Fasten the straps around the lower bottle,
and check to make sure the entire assembly is secure. (see Figure 4)

Using the IV Pole
If your QTAC is equipped with the optional IV pole and holder, you’ll find the holder
fastened to the outside of the storage box, closes to the attendant. (see Figure 5)

1. To place the IV pole in position for use during patient extract, remove it from the
rubber retention straps, and place it through the insertion hole provided on the
top, forward, leading edge of the patient platform. There is also a corresponding
hole on the base of the QTAC. (see Figure 6) To secure the pole, use the rubber
retention strap located just beneath the patient platform. (see Figure 7)

SERVICING YOUR QTAC
Cleaning Your QTAC
Your QTAC is best cleaned with plain water. If additional cleaning power is needed, a
small amount of dish or car washing soap may be used. Avoid the use of high pressure
spray on the water tank as the decals and rubber components may be damaged.
Routine QTAC Maintenance
Your QTAC requires no special maintenance.
