undergoa trialtrip,itisthereforereadyforuse.Itis

nonethelessstronglyrecommendabletocarrytroughthe

followingcheckingsbeforeputtingthevehicleintooper-

ationforthefirsttime.

Beforethefirsttrip,comparethecharacteristicnumbers

ofthevehiclewiththoseindicatedontheregistration

papers.

chokenotrickler.

Inautomaticmodelswithpedalswatchpositionof

changeleverfortreadle(seedatasheet).

Openthethrottleby

(turnthrottletwist-gripbyone

thirdofitstravel).Attention:inautomaticmodels

openthrottleonlyslightly.

Operateclutchcontrolleveralmostatthesametime

andengagethenextgear.

Releaseclutchcontrollever.

Openthrottle.

Afterreachingmaximumspeedbyfullyopeningthe

throttletwistgrip,throttledowntoabout

thefallin

speedwillbehardlyperceptiblewhereasfuelconsump-

tionwillthusbeconsiderablyreduced.Throttleopening

shouldbeturnedtowhattheenginejustneeds-sharp

openingofthethrottletwist-griponlyincreasesfuel

consumption.Whendrivingspeedhastobereducedbe-

causeofa slopeortrafficcircumstances,changedown.

applyhandandfoot-operatedbrakesimultaneously.On

sandy,wetorslipperyroads,useprimarilythefoot-

operatedbrake.

Alwaysapplythebrakescautiously.Lockingwheels

reducethebrakingefficiencyandentailskiddingand

crashing.

Throttleback,

applythebrakes,

operatetheclutchcontrolleverandengage

neutralgear.

cendingsteepgrades,engagebottomgear.
