2Preventative Maintenance
The Pregis Quantum Series requires very little maintenance. The following items should be checked when
visiting a customer with this equipment.
1. Run machine and check for the following
•Paper is flowing unobstructed into machine on a straight path from the paper holder to the
loop.
•Paper not bunching up inside machine.
•Activating the machine’s power tear assist yields consistent, clean and complete tearing of
paper. Ensure the machine does not eject paper out the back of the drive roller.
•Foot pedal is functional
•LCD is on and displaying correct information
2. Actuate tear assist plate by hand with the machine powered off. Make sure plate rotates freely and
there isn’t any excessive binding.
3. Lift top nip roller assembly
•Ensure the “close roller” error displays when the assembly is open
•Inspect both upper roller for damage, make sure they spin freely
4. Spin orange drive roller by hand (machine powered off) and ensure it spins freely without excessive
resistance.
5. Visual Inspection of machine
•Inspect orange roller, remove any labels, stickers or paper debris.
•Inspect power and foot switch wires for any abrasion. Make sure they do not come in contact
with flow of paper.
•Bull horn and Loop are installed correctly. No components are loose or cracked.
