QUICK
START
GUIDE
Figure out the type of material that you will be
ironing, and set the temperature selector to that
material. If your material isn’t shown, select the most
similar material. Synthetic materials should always
be ironed with a lower temperature.
Decide whether or not you want to use continuous
steam, and how strong you want the continuous
steam to be, setting the steam selector to the level
that will give you the best results. Some things you
might do with your Prado X3 work best without
steam, including some specialized fabrics or when
applying iron-on transfers and patches.

Place the fabric at on your ironing surface. Ironing
boards work best, and protect other surfaces from
damage from the high heat and steam.
Plug the Prado X3 into your standard wall outlet.
Once the light at the base has turned o indicating
that the iron has reached the target temperature,
you are ready to iron! Place the X3’s soleplate on
the fabric, and move the iron in any direction at a
moderate speed, using the Steam Burst or Fine Mist
buttons to eliminate particularly challenging wrinkles
or create sharp creases.
When you’re nished ironing, place the Prado X3
on its base, unplug it from the outlet, let it cool, and
empty the water reservoir before putting it away
until next time.

FEATURES MIRROR STAINLESS
SOLEPLATE
Your new Prado X3 has a mirror stainless soleplate. This
soleplate is best for ironing natural fabrics such as cotton,
rayon, wool, silk, and linen, but can also iron synthetic
bres very well. Using special contours, the mirror
stainless soleplate creates a pillow of steam to quickly
remove unwanted wrinkles and create sharp creases.

FINE MIST
The Prado X3’s ne mist function is designed to spray a
ne mist of cool water across a 1.1m2area in front of the
iron in order to help with wrinkles spread out over a larger
area. Use the ne mist button on the top left hand side of
the iron behind the water receptacle to spray the ne mist
in front of the iron’s path.
STEAM BURST
Your Prado X3 comes with the ability to eject a large burst
of steam on demand. This function is helpful in removing
particularly challenging wrinkles without wetting the fabric.
Use the steam burst button on the top right hand side of
the iron behind the water receptacle to release a single
large burst of steam. After each steam burst, it’s best to
wait for a few seconds to give the X3 time to prepare an
additional burst of steam. If you need continuous steam,
turn on the continuous steam function using the steam
selector.

VERTICAL STEAM
The Prado X3 can steam clothing that is hanging up
vertically. To steam a garment vertically, turn the Prado X3
to its maximum temperature to heat the water as quickly
as possible. While holding the iron 2-3 inches from the
fabric, press the steam burst button to eject steam onto
the garment. In order to ensure an even ow of steam,
press the steam button periodically rather than rapidly.
INTELLIGENT AUTO-OFF
The Prado X3 features an intelligent 3-way auto-o
system to help avoid accidents. When the iron is on its
soleplate or on its side, it will automatically turn o after
60 seconds of inactivity. When the iron is on its base, it
will automatically turn o after 8 minutes of inactivity.
When auto-o is triggered, the light will blink and you will
hear beeping. To turn the Prado X3 back on, simply tilt it
horizontally or plug it back in. Although the Prado X3 has
this important safety feature, it is important to be careful
to never leave the iron unattended while plugged in.

SELF CLEAN
The Prado X3’s self-clean function is designed to
automatically clean the iron’s steam holes if they become
blocked with mineral deposits or bres from garments.
For direction on how to use the self-clean function, refer
to page 21.
HARD-WATER RESISTANT
Although the Prado X3 functions best when lled with
distilled water, it doesn’t require anything more than
clean tap water. In areas with hard water (water with a
high mineral content), this water is automatically treated
by the iron to prevent calcication in the steam and mist
channels. No additional treatment is necessary.
Chemical treatments will damage the Prado X3, and
should never be used. When in doubt, use clean,
untreated tap water.

360º SWIVEL CORD
The Prado X3’s convenient 360º Swivel Cord means that
you don’t have to worry about the cord tugging on the
iron while you try to manoeuvre across clothing. Tangling
and twisted wires will never get in your way.
ANTI-DRIP
The Prado X3’s anti-drip function does not need to be
turned on or o. The Prado X3 is always helping to protect
from dripping unwanted wet spots on your garments.
