WARRANTY
The AFGR9 comes with TWO (2) YEARS WARRANTY FOR MANUFACTURER’S PARTSAND MANUFACTURING
LABOR .We will include lightning strikes in our two years warranty if our ASP1 surge protector is installed with the systems.
If you use other than Pach and Company ASP1 Surge Protector, you are responsible to claim the damages to the surge
protector manufacturer. The above warranties are subject to the following conditions.
• The products must be properly installed as specified, maintained, used as intended.
• The serial number on the printed circuit board must match the serial number on the cabinet.
• The system's failure is not caused by vandalism, improper instillation, misuse or abuse.
• Physically damaged product is not acceptable for repair or exchange within our warranty.
• The warranty will be void and null if the product has been repaired or modified by unauthorized party
without authorization from the Pach & Company Technical Department.
• If for some reason your system cannot be repaired, Pach and Company will replace it with an
identical product of equal value.
• You must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number from Pach & Company
Technical Department before you can send back the product to factory for repair.
• You are responsible for all transportation and insurance charges for the products shipped to the Pach
& Company repair center.
• Pach & Company will not reimburse your time and labor cost to install, uninstall or reinstall
hardware/software/firmware for enhancements or bugs fixed or systems failures.
• PACH AND COMPANY WILL NOT COVER THE FIELD LABOR TO INSTALL, REMOVE AND
TROUBLE-SHOOT THE SYSTEM.

CHAPTER 1. GETTING STARTED
1.1 Introduction
Pach & Company thanks and congratulates you on the purchase of your AeGIS AFGR9 Biometric Fingerprints Reader with
26-Bit Wiegand Output.
The manual is designed to guide you through the proper programming and use of the AeGIS AFGR9. It is important for you
to read and follow the manual completely.
The Aegis AFGR9 comes with two years warranty (see warranty on previous page). We will include lightning strikes in our
two years warranty if Pach & Company surge protector (ASP1) is installed with the system.
1.2 System Description
The AeGIS AFGR9 is a Biometric Fingerprint Reader with 26-Bit Wiegand Output and 1000 Template/Access
Code Capacity. The system can be installed as a standalone, Wiegand interface with the AeGIS 9000 Series or
RS-485 using our AWCRM (AeGIS 26-Bit Wiegand Card Reader Module).

1.5 Unpacking the System
Check the serial number on the printed circuit board and cabinet, they must be matched. If they don’t match
contact, return the product to your distributor or call Pach and Company at 1-888-678-7224. All the items below
come with the system.
• AFGR9 System.
• XMFR (12VAC Power Transformer).
• One-2 pins terminal connector (inside the unit).
• Two- 12pins terminal connector (inside the unit).
• RS-232 cable.
• Set of keys.

CHAPTER 2. INSTALLATION
A proper installation of the AeGIS system is very essential. Improper installation will void the warranty. The
AFGR9 can be installed as Wiegand Interface with the AeGIS 9000 Series, Standalone unit or RS-485 using

2.1 Wiegand Interface Connection
The AeGIS AFGR9 has one Wiegand output to interface with the AeGIS 9000 Series. The maximum distance
between the two units cannot exceed 500 feet using 18 gauge wire. There are four relays available if you use
the Wiegand Interface Connection: Two relays on AFGR9 (see figure 2.3) and two relays on AeGIS 9000
Series (See AeGIS 9000 Series Installation and Programming Manual). See figure 2.2 for wiring diagram.

2.2 Standalone Unit Connection
The AFGR9 has two on board relay to control two doors at the same time. See figure 2.3.

2.3 RS-485 Connection
An Optional RS-485 Wiegand Card Reader Module (AWCRM) must be used for this application.
The AWCRM has one built-in relay to control door or gate. You may also use the two built-in relays on the
AFGR9 to control
another door or gate (see figure 2.3)
