Introduction
Thank you for making Amigo Arc your choice of neckloop receiver.
Amigo Arc belongs to the Amigo FM product family from Oticon – a company that strives to
provide superior solutions for school and home use.
The extreme versatility of the Amigo family makes life much easier in academic, profes-
sional and social listening situations.
Amigo transmitters and receivers are compatible with most types of Behind-the-Ear
hearing instruments, as well as Cochlear Implants. Amigo Arc can also be used for ITE
instruments that have a telecoil.

Getting started
What Amigo Arc connects to
Amigo Arc can be used with instruments with a telecoil, e.g. BTE, RITE, ITE, Cochlear Im-
plants and Bone Anchored hearing solutions and with headphones for people with CAPD.
Amigo Arc also works with all Amigo transmitters plus most other brands of FM
transmitters.
You can connect Amigo Arc to devices such as mp3 players using an auxiliary cable and
plug.

Charging the battery
Amigo Arc uses a built-in rechargeable battery, which must be charged for 4 hours before
being used for the first time. To charge the battery, remove the AUX cable, if attached, and
plug in the charger as shown below. It takes 1½ hours to charge Amigo Arc 80%, and 2½
hours to fully charge it.
While charging, Amigo Arc will automatically turn o.
Note: Amigo Arc can also be charged from a PC using the USB cable provided.
Wearing Amigo Arc
Amigo Arc is designed to be worn around the neck . To put Amigo Arc on, simply open the
loop at the connector (see below), pull the wire around your neck and close the connector
again.

How the LEDs work
Amigo Arc has two LEDs; one to indicate that it is receiving an FM signal, and the other to
indicate battery status.
FM LED:
Steady red
On and receiving the FM signal.
Triple blink
Synchronise and fitting command accepted.
No light
O, error, poor signal or audio plug connected.
The battery - shaped LED indicates the charge status of Amigo Arc.
Steady red
Battery charged and device is on.
Fast red blink
Low on battery.
Slow red blink
Battery charging. When fully charged the LED changes to steady red.
No light
Battery empty – device turns o.
Note: The LED lights can be disabled if necessary.

How the buttons work
On/O/Seek button
The on/o button doubles as it is also acting as seek button.
Push the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds to turn the device on. A start-up beep will be played.
The battery LED will show a steady red.
Push the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds to turn the device o.
Channel seek
You can seek for active FM channels by pressing the On/O button. Amigo Arc will beep
when it encounters an active FM channel, and emit a confirmation beep when locking on to
your channel of choice.
Note: The seek functionality can be disabled for small children.
Volume up and down
Press the arrow up button briefly to achieve the desired volume.
Press the arrow down button briefly to lower the volume.
Amigo Arc will beep when changing the volume up or down; the default level is
also indicated with a double beep, if beeps are enabled.
A long press on the volume up/down button will change the listening program in
wireless Oticon hearing instruments.
Note: Both functionalities can be disabled for small children.

Intelligent memory for your convenience
Amigo Arc oers three types of volume settings to suit your personal preferences.
These settings are:
1. Standard use, where the FM signal is transmitted to the telecoil
2. Connecting e.g. an MP3 player to the AUX jack
3. Connecting headphones to the AUX jack
If you turn the volume up two notches when listening to e.g. an MP3 player, Amigo Arc will
automatically remember this the next time you are using your music player.
Audible indicators
Amigo Arc has an audible indicator that emits a beep when a setting has been changed.
Amigo Arc beeps once, every time the volume is turned one notch up or down. When the
default level is reached, a double beep is emitted.
Moreover, if the scan functionality is enabled, Amigo Arc will play a beep every second
during the scan operation. When locking on to an FM channel, two beeps will be played.
Note: Beeps can be disabled, if necessary.

Exchangeable shells
Amigo Arc comes with five dierent-coloured covers. These are simple to change.
Start by pressing a fingernail into the gap at the top of the cover,
then twist it loose on both sides.
Note: Never use excessive force when changing faceplates.
Synchronising Amigo Arc
To synchronise Amigo Arc, make sure that that it is turned on.
Within a distance of approximately 50 cm, press the SYNC button on the Amigo T20/T21/
WRP. The LED on the transmitter will then blink three times, and the SYNC logo will appear
on the screen. If synchronisation is successful, the FM LED on Amigo Arc will also blink
three times.
Note: Amigo Arc can also seek for active FM channels - see page 12.

Cleaning Amigo Arc
Amigo Arc is moisture repellent, making it very easy to clean with a cloth dampened with
water, do not use alcohol or the like.
Do not immerse Amigo Arc in water or other liquids.
