Hardware Setup:
In order to clone data from your existing hard drive to your new Enigma SED, you need to use the supplied
Data Transfer Cable to connect the Enigma SED to your computer. Depending on available ports you can use
either a USB port or eSATA/USB Combo port to connect the Data Transfer Cable to your computer. If you
have an eSATA/USB Combo port we would recommend using this connection as it will allow for quicker data
transfer than USB.
Once you have determined the connection type available, follow the relevant instructions below to complete
the hardware setup.
USB Connection
1) Connect the SATA connector on Data Transfer Cable to the SATA connector on the Enigma SED hard
drive.

connector on the eSATA/USB adapter.
3) Connect the eSATA/USB adapter to the USB port on your computer. Windows will detect the new
hardware and automatically install the correct drivers for the device. The Enigma SED will not appear
in “My Computer” because it is not initialised.
eSATA/USB Combo Connection
1) Connect the SATA connector on the Data Transfer Cable to the SATA connector on the Enigma SED
hard drive.
2) Connect the eSATA/USB Combo connector on the Data Transfer Cable to the eSATA/USB Combo
port on your computer. Windows will detect the new hardware and automatically install the correct
drivers for the device, if it does not you may need to reboot your computer for the Enigma SED to
be detected. The Enigma SED will not appear in “My Computer” because it is not initialised.
Cloning Your Hard Drive:
Having installed the Acronis True Image HD software and connected the Enigma SED hard drive to your
computer using the Data Transfer Cable you can now clone the entire contents of your existing hard drive
to the Enigma SED by following the instructions below. This will create an exact clone of your existing hard
drive allowing you to use your Enigma SED drive in place of your existing drive without reinstalling the
operating system, applications or any of your data files.
1) Double click on the Acronis True Image HD icon on your computers desktop to launch the software.
If prompted click “Allow” on the User Account Control dialogue.
