1. Precautions
To avoid personal injury or damage to the vehicles, read this
instruction manual and observe the following safety
precautions whenever working on a vehicle:
• Be sure to test your vehicle in a safe environment.
• Wear ANSI-compliant eye protection tools.
• Keep clothing, hair, hands, tools and test equipment
away from all operating or hot engine parts.
• Operate the vehicle in a well-ventilated work area:
Exhaust gases are poisonous.
• Place blocks in front of the drive wheels and never leave
the vehicle unattended while running tests.
• Extreme caution must be exercised when working around
ignition coils, distributor caps, ignition wires and spark
plugs. These components generate dangerous voltages
while the engine is running.
• Put the transmission into "PARK" (for automatic
transmission) or "NEUTRAL" (for manual transmission)
and make sure the parking brake is activated.
• Keep an applicable fire extinguisher near the hazard area
• Don’t connect or disconnect any test equipment while the
ignition is on or the engine is running.
• Keep test tools dry, clean and free of oil or grease. Use a
mild detergent on a clean cloth to clean the outside of
the Car Professional Scan Tool, when necessary.

2. Using the Car Professional Scan Tool
2.1 Tool Description

OBD II CONNECTOR - Connects the Car Professional Scan
Tool to the vehicle’s Data Link Connector (DLC).

LCD DISPLAY - Indicates test results.
③
UP button - Roll up the menu and submenu in menu
screen.
④
DOWN button – Roll down the menu and submenu in
menu screen.
⑤
EXIT button – Cancel the operation or exit.
⑥
OK button- Confirms a selection (or action) from a menu
list.
⑦
Bluetooth button – Enter bluetooth mode.
⑧
F1 button - Quickly enter the features that have been set.
⑨
LED indicator - Visually indicate the failure of the vehicle.

between tool and vehicle.
2.4 Navigation Characters
Characters used to help navigate the Car Professional Scan
Tool are:
1) “” --indicates current selection.
2) “Pd” -- Identifies a pending DTC when viewing DTCs.
3) “$” -- Identifies the control module number from which
the data is retrieved.
2.5 Vehicle Power
The power of the Car Professional Scan Tool is provided via
the vehicle Data Link Connector (DLC). Follow the steps below
to turn on the Car Professional Scan Tool:
1) Connect the OBD II cable to the Car Professional Scan
Tool.
2) Find DLC on vehicle.

A plastic DLC cover may be found for some vehicles and
you need to remove it before plugging the OBD2 cable.
3) Plug OBD II cable to the vehicle’s DLC.
2.6 System Setup
The Car Professional Scan Tool allows you to make the
following adjustments and settings:
1) Language: Selects desired language.
2) Unit of measure: Sets the unit of measure to English or
Metric.
3) Contrast: Adjusts the contrast of the LCD display.
4) Backlight: Adjusts the backlight of the LCD display.
5) Key Beep: Turn on or off the beep of key.
6) F1 Key Function: Select F1 key function.
To enter the System Setup menu
From the Main Screen, press UP/DOWN button to select the
Setup icon ,press OK button enter System Setup menu.
Follow the instructions to make adjustments and settings as
described in the following setup options.

The number "x/x" to the upper right comer of the screen
indicates total number of items under the menu and
sequence of currently selected item.
Language
•
English is the default language.
1) From System Setup menu, use UP/DOWN button to
select Language, and press OK button.

2) Use UP/DOWN button to select the desired language
and press OK button to save your selection and return to
previous menu.
Unit Of Measurement
•
Metric is the default measurement unit.
1) From System Setup menu, use UP/DOWN button to
select Unit of Measure and press OK button.
2) From Unit of Measure menu, use UP/DOWN button to
select the desired unit of measurement.

Contrast
1) From System Setup menu, use UP/DOWN button to
select Contrast and press OK button.
2) From Contrast menu, use UP/DOWN button to adjust
contrast.
3) Press OK button to save your settings and return to
previous menu.

Backlight
1) From System Setup menu, use UP/DOWN button to select
Backlight, and press OK button.
2) From Backlight menu, use UP/DOWN button to adjust
backlight.
