SAFETY NOTICES
This manual contains safety notices which must be observed to prevent personal injury and/or
property damage and ensure safe and correct use of the bellows pump.
In this manual, safety notices are divided into “Danger”, “Warning” and “Caution” according to
the hazard level.
Because these safety notices contain important information, be sure to read and observe them.
DANGER
A danger notice with this symbol indicates the presence of an imminently
hazardous situation, if not avoided, will result in death or serious personal injury.
WARNING
A warning notice with this symbol indicates the presence of a potentially
hazardous situation, if not avoided, could result in death or serious personal
injury.
CAUTION
A caution notice with this symbol indicates the presence of a potentially
hazardous situation, if not avoided, may result in personal injury and/or property
damage.
This symbol indicates prohibition.
This symbol conveys mandatory action or provides an instruction.
In this manual, safety information appears at the beginning of each section. Crucial safety
information ( WARNING) among others is listed below:
Do not use the leakage detection port (do not connect the bolts to
a pump controller) if the liquid is flammable or explosive.
Otherwise, a spark from the bolt may cause an explosion.
ExplosionDo not place non-explosionproof devices including the pump
power supply (amplifier), solenoid valves and pump controllers in
a dangerous area (an area in which explosive fumes are present).
Only an explosionproof pump is permitted to be placed in such an
area.
Otherwise, an explosion may result.
Do not leave the pump air outlet unconnected to an exhaust duct.
Otherwise, leakage of the liquid from the air outlet may cause personal
injury, property damage and/or contamination of the workplace if the
bellows or other pump parts are broken.
Liquid
leakage
Do not retighten joints, pipe fittings or through bolts while the
pump or piping is in high-temperature and/or pressurized
conditions.
Doing so may cause deformation of or damage to the pump or piping,
resulting in a spout of the liquid.
Be sure to stop the pump, release the air pressure to zero, cool down
the pump and piping to 30°C or lower, and then retighten the joints,
pipe fittings or through bolts to the specified torque.
WARNING
Disassembly
Never disassemble the pump.
Disassembling the pump will involve spatter of the liquid, resulting in
serious personal injury and/or contamination of the workplace. If
disassembly of the pump is inevitable, be sure to consult us.
