Introduction
This manual has been written to assist the operator/owner with training,
operating, servicing and preventive maintenance of the Munro Wire Winder.
All safety and maintenance procedures should be followed to prevent
operator injuries and damage to the Wire Winder.
Please read thoroughly and familiarize with all points in this manual before
operating.
Safety
Please read and familiarize yourself with the following safety points before
operating the Wire Winder.
•Always use caution and care when operating, check all clearances
before engaging winder.
•When operating the Wire Winder ensure spool top and brace are
installed and that the main shaft wedge and retaining pin are
installed securely.
•Do not over fill the spool.
•Ensure that the Wire Winder is in good working order. Do not
operate if equipment is damaged or defective.
•Do not allow any person/s to approach the Wire Winder or wire/s
connected to the Wire Winder when it is being operated.
•Do not dismount from vehicle while Wire Winder is operating.
•Ensure that maintenance is carried out regularly as listed in this
manual.
•It is recommended that the operator wear safety clothing/equipment
when practical.
Warranty
A 12-month warranty covers that the equipment manufactured shall be free
from defects in workmanship and materials when the Wire Winder has been
properly operated, maintained and used under normal conditions. The
warranty period shall commence when the Wire Winder is shipped from Munro
Engineers.
The warranty shall not cover ordinary wear and tear of the equipment and any
modifications the owner has carried out.
Munro Engineers makes no warranty of any kind whatsoever with respect to
Parts manufactured or supplied by other persons; however Munro Engineers
shall assist the buyer in connection with warranties provided by others.

Training
It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all personnel who operate
the Wire Winder are adequately trained to do so.
The owner/operator training shall include the following items:
•Checking Safety items.
•A run through of equipment.
•Control layout and what the controls do.
•Risks associated with operating a Wire Winder.
•Recommended safety clothing/equipment.
•Serviceable Items.
Owner and Operator Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the owner and operators of a Wire Winder are listed
below:
•All personnel involved in the operation, inspection and maintenance
of the Wire Winder are adequately trained.
•Manuals applicable to the Wire Winder are available to operators and
maintenance personnel.
•A maintenance logbook is maintained on the Wire Winder (Supplied
at the back of this manual).
•If the Wire Winder is not safe for operation it shall be immediately
removed from service.
•Be familiar with and understand the operating instructions and
emergency procedures.
•Check the work area for operational hazards.

Before Operation
For your safety and to maximize the service life of your Wire Winder, it is very
important to check your equipment’s condition before commencing operation.
Be sure to take care of any problem you find, or have the manufacturer correct
it.
Before beginning your pre-operation checks, be sure that the Wire Winder is
stable & level
Setting up.
•Attach the Wire Winder to the vehicle’s hitch (burder or eurohitch) as
per the vehicles operating manual.
•Connect hydraulic fittings.
•Fit or check fitment of spool top, spool top wedge, wedge pin and top
brace.
Check the General Condition of the Wire Winder.
•Look around for signs of oil leaks from the Hydraulic lines and motor.
•Remove any excess dirt or debris, from around any of the equipment.
•Check Wire Winder is securely attached to vehicle hitch.
•Check that all fasteners are tightened.
•Look for any signs of damage.
•Remove any wire that may still be attached to the spool or other
parts of the Wire Winder
•Check motor operation.
•Check bearing for excessive wear, play, vibration or noise.
WARNING
Improper maintaining of your Wire Winder, or failing to correct
a problem before operation, could cause malfunction that could
lend to serious injuries or death.
Always perform daily checklist inspection before every
operation, and correct any problem.

Operation
1. Inspect equipment.
2. Check fluid levels.
3. Enter vehicle.
4. Check that controls are functioning correctly (clockwise and counterclockwise
rotation).
5. Check that Emergency stop is working.
6. Commence operation.
Wire Winder Usage
Pass wire through Wire guide nearest
to fence line.
Secure wire to Lower Spool hoop.
Engage the spool and depending on
the position of the wire to be wound,
continue winding from a stationary
position, or match the speed of the
vehicle to the rate at which the wire
is being wound onto the spool.

Once the spool is full. The wire can
be removed by first taking off the top
brace.
Remove the R-Clip
Slide out the locking wedge.
Remove the top spool.
Cut the wire that was secured to the
outer hoop.

Remove the coil of wire from the
tapered spool.
Re-attach spool top, tapered wedge,
R-Clip and top brace and check for
and remove any wire that may have
become jammed in the unit.
The unit is now ready for use again.
