Exciter
These instructions are intended for installers of PA system with
adequate technical knowledge. Please read the instructions
carefully prior to installation and keep them for later reference.
Applications
This exciter is glued onto a surface capable of vibrating (e.g.
table plate, shelf, bathtub, shower enclosure, ceiling panel or
glass pane) so that the surface serves as a kind of speaker cone.
In contrast to conventional speakers, this exciter primarily excites
bending waves on the surface to provide a wider radiation.
Sound quality and volume depend on the material properties
and the dimensions of the mounting surface. The exciter is
weatherproof (IP66) and can therefore also be used for outdoor
applications and in damp environments (e.g. bathroom, patio).
Safety Notes
The product corresponds to all relevant directives of the EU and
is therefore marked with . The product corresponds to the
relevant UK legislation and is therefore marked with UKCA.
•
Protect the product against extremely high or low tem-
peratures. The admissible ambient temperature range is
−10 to +40°C.
•
Never use chemicals or aggressive detergents for cleaning.
• No guarantee claims for the product and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage will
be accepted if the product is not correctly used, if it is
overloaded or if it is not repaired in an expert way.
Installation
1)
Before installing the exciter, make a test run to determine
the exciter position for the best sound reproduction.
2)
To install EX-1W, remove the protective film and then
glue the exciter onto a clean, flat surface.
3) Switch off the amplifier prior to connecting the exciter.
4)
Connect the cable of EX-1W to a speaker output of
the amplifier. When connecting multiple exciters to a
single output, make sure that they have the same
polarity and are not below the minimum load imped-
ance of the output.
Note: Once the exciter has been attached to a surface, use a knife
or wire, for example, to detach the exciter. Never pull the housing;
the exciter may be damaged.
