1 Preface
Congratulations for purchasing and using METREL A1207 3-phase adapter accessory.
The A1207 is an adapter for interfacing three-phase appliances to the mains test socket
of appliance testers for measuring insulation, substitute leakage and earth bond tests.
2 Safety and operational considerations
2.1 Warnings and notes
In order to reach high level of operator’s safety while working with the A1207 adapter it
is necessary to consider the following general warnings:
Warning on the A1207 means »Read the Instruction manual with
special care to safety operation«. The symbol requires an action!
Consider all generally known precautions in order to avoid risk of electric
shock while dealing with hazardous voltages!
All normal safety precautions have to be taken in order to avoid risk of
electric shock when working on electrical installations!
The A1207 is intended to use only in combination with METREL portable
appliance and electrical equipment safety testers. Never connect the A1207
to any energized supply system!
If the A1207 is used in a manner not specified in this user manual, the
protection provided by the A1207 adapter / test instrument and device
under test may be impaired!
Do not use the A1207 if any damage is noticed!
The device under test must be disconnected form any supply system and
discharged while it is connected to the A1207!
Service intervention is allowed to be carried out only by a competent
authorized person!
