Menvier Zone Omit 5158 2 Series Manual de usuario

Introduction
TheZoneOmitUnitallowseitheramonitoredalarmzone
and tamper zone to be isolated OR two monitored
alarmzonestobeisolated,sothattheywillnotgenerate
an alarm at the control panel if triggered. The omitted
condition will be indicated at the Zone Omit Unit. An
isolated zone can only be switched back to the normal
condition provided it is not in alarm (Safe Set).
Two versions of the Zone Omit Unit are available:
5158.2:
This version is supplied without a keyswitch,
therefore a remote keyswitch must be provided
so that the unit may be controlled. A Shunt Lock
switch may be used as the control switch.
5158S.2:
This version is supplied complete with integral
keyswitch and 2 keys.
Features
The Zone Omit Unit may be set to operate in one of two
modes:
Mode 1:
This mode allows one alarm zone and one
tamper zone to be isolated.
Mode 2:
This mode allows two alarm zones to be isolated
and two tamper zones to be monitored but not
isolated.

Isolate or Fault conditions.
Terminals are provided for the connection of remote
indicator LED's and an extension piezo sounder (Not a
loudspeaker).
Operation
Normal:
TheswitchissettotheONpositionandallLED'sare
off. The Zone and Tamper outputs to the control
panel will follow the condition of the connected
alarm and tamper zone inputs. If the alarm zone
is activated the alarm relay will open and the
condition will be indicated to the control panel. If
thetamper zone isactivated the tamperrelay will
open and the condition will be indicated to the
Control Panel.
Isolated:
The switch is set to the OFF position, this will be
indicatedbythegreenLEDilluminating.IfMODE1
is selected the alarm zone [ALM A] and tamper
zone[TMPA]areisolated fromtheControlPanel. If
MODE 2 is selected the alarm zone A [ALM A] and
alarm zone B [ALM B] are isolated.
Return to
Normal:
The unit can only be switched back to normal
(ON) when the monitored zones are healthy. If a
fault is present when turning the keyswitch to the
ON position the internal sounder will operate and
the appropriate Red Fault LED illuminates. If the
switch is left in the ON position the Red Fault LED
will extinguish when the fault is cleared, but the
sounder remain on. Once the fault has been
cleared,turningtheswitchtotheOFFpositionand
back to the ON position will reinstate the isolated
zone(s).

Installation
Toinstallthe5158.2ZoneOmitUnitproceedasfollows:
1. Separate the cover and base by using a screwdriver
to push 2 of the clips on the left or right hand
side inward from the base indents, then lift away the
cover.
2. Mark and drill the wall as required taking care not to
damage the PCB assembly. Pass all cables into
the base via the cable entry points as appropriate
and secure the base to the wall.
3. Connect cables as required (see Figs1-4).
4. Set the MODE jumper module to the required setting
1 or 2 (see Features).
5. If the sounder is required to operate whenever the
unit is set to the Isolate (OFF) condition then set
the sounder jumper plug JP3 to the ISOL position. If
the sounder is required to indicate only a circuit
fault when the unit is being switched back to the
Normal (ON) condition then set the sounder
jumper plug JP3 to the FLT position.
6. If the alarm output to the control panel is required to
latch, close the "ALARM LATCH" link LK1. When
using this feature the alarm output is reset by
switching the unit from ON to OFF and back to ON.
7. If required connect the remote isolate LED and zone
LED's as shown (Fig 4).
8. If installing 5158.2 (unit without keyswitch) then a
remote keyswitch or shunt lock must be connected
asshown(Fig4).Note:Whenclosedcircuitthe zones
are isolated.
Commissioning & Testing
With all connections made and verified carry out the
following:
1. Refit cover and switch the unit to the Isolate (OFF)
position, apply power andverify thatthegreen LED is
illuminated. Set the control panel into "Walk Test".
2. Switch unit to Normal (ON) and check the green LED
extinguishes. Set all monitored loops Alarm &
Tamper to a fault condition and verify that their
conditionsare indicated atthe control panel.Revert
loops to normal and verify that the condition clears.
3. Switch unit to Isolate (OFF) and check green LED
illuminates. If JP3is set to ISOL theunit will sound. Set
bothisolated loopstoafaultconditionand verifythat
the Control Panel remains clear. With fault still
present switch the unit back to Normal (ON). Verify
both Fault LED's illuminate and the Control Panel
remains clear. If JP3 is set to FLT the unit will sound.
4. Clear both faults and verify both Fault LED's
extinguish, switch the unit back to Isolate (OFF). Then
switch unit to Normal (ON) and verify green LED
extinguishes and sounder stops.
5. Setcontrolpanelbacktounsetordaycondition.The
5158.2 is now commissioned and ready for use.
