Know Your VISION
Thank you for choosing the Matrix VISION! Please read the instructions in this Quick Start
carefully to install and program this versatile Small and Medium Business PBX with powerful
features.
Overview
The VISION is available in 3 models:
• VISION 206S (2 trunk lines, 6 stations)
• VISION 308S (3 trunk lines, 8 stations)
• VISION 309P (3 trunk lines, 9 stations)
VISION 206S and VISION 308S are Standard models. VISION 309P is a Premium model.
This is a common Quick Start for all models. For the purpose of illustration, the model VISION
308S has been used.
The Trunk ports of VISION are numbered as 0, 1 and 2. The software ports of the stations are
numbered from 00-08 in VISION 309P.
The software ports of the stations also have corresponding ‘flexible numbers’, from 21-29
(default). These flexible numbers can be reprogrammed as per your preference.

Installing VISION
Before you Start
1. Verify the package contents.
Unpack the box. Make sure that the package contains the following items.
If any item is missing or damaged, please contact the dealer/reseller from whom you have
purchased your product.
2. Get your Trunk and Station Cables ready.
For the Trunk and Stations, use a standard telephone cable (two-pair twisted cable with 0.5
mm connector diameter). The length of the station cable may be extended up to 800 meters.
Strip the ends of the trunk and station cables to be inserted on the system side about 1cm to
ensure firm and neat contacts.
3. Get your Station Telephones ready.
You will need Single Line Telephones (SLT) to be connected as stations. Any ordinary push
button phone, with or without Call Line Display, even cordless phones can be connected to
the VISION. Decide the number of stations you would like to connect and arrange for the
SLTs.

Use SLTs equipped with a Flash Key, as several features supported by VISION require you to use the
the Flash Key. If your phone does not have a Flash Key, tap the Hook switch to dial Flash.
Installing VISION
1. Select a suitable place on the wall to mount VISION.
• Use the wall mount template provided in the package, to mark the nail holes on the wall.
Drill two holes of appropriate size. Fix the two M 7/30 screws (supplied) in the holes you
drilled on the wall with the help of the screw grips (supplied). The screws must protrude
slightly from the wall. Align the keyhole slots on the backside of VISION with the screws
fixed on the wall. Slide the VISION down on the screws to secure it on the wall.
You may also mount VISION on a table, with its front side facing up.
2. Connect the Trunk line and the Station lines.
• Remove the cover of the VISION by pressing the snaps on the top panel as indicated in
the figure below.

• Using your thumb and index finger, grip and push back the Trunk Terminal (T1). Insert
the stripped ends of the two wires of the trunk cable into the two terminal openings (one
wire in each opening). Release your grip. Ensure that both wires fit neatly.
• Similarly, using your thumb and index finger, grip and push back the Station Terminal of
Station number 01. Insert the stripped ends of each wire of the station cable into the
openings (one wire in each opening). Release your grip. Ensure that both wires fit neatly.
Repeat the above steps to connect other Trunks and Stations.
3. Connect a Computer.
• Connect the COM Port of VISION to the COM Port of the Computer using the RS232C
cable (9-pin, with D-type female connectors at both ends).
On the Windows operating system use the Hyperterminal to generate the Configuration
and the Station Message Detail Recording Reports. For detailed instructions refer to the
System Manual.
