1. Introduction

This manual has been compiled to help you to operate your craft with safety and pleasure. It contains details of

the craft, the equipment supplied or fitted, its systems, and information on its operation and maintenance. Please

read it carefully, and familiarize yourself with the craft before using it.

If this is your first craft, or you are changing to a type of craft you are not familiar with, for your own comfort and safety,

please ensure that you obtain handling and operating experience before assuming command of the craft. Your dealer or

national sailing federation or yacht club will be pleased to advise you of local sea schools, or competent instructors.

PLEASE KEEP THIS MANUAL IN A SECURE PLACE AND HAND IT OVER TO THE NEW OWNER WHEN YOU SELL

THE CRAFT.

2. Description

2.1 Design Categories

Category A - “Ocean”. Craft designed for extended voyages where conditions experienced may exceed wind force8

(Beaufort scale) and include significant wave heights of 4 m, for vessels that are largely self-sufficient.

Category B - “Offshore”. Craft designed for offshore voyages where conditions up to and including wind force 8 and

significant wave heights up to and including 4 m may be experienced.

Category C - “Inshore”. Craft designed for voyages in coastal waters, large bays, estuaries, lakes and rivers, where

conditions up to and including wind force 6 and significant wave heights up to and including 2 m may be experienced.

Category D - “Sheltered Waters”. Craft designed for voyages on small lakes, rivers and canals, where conditions up to

and including wind force 4 and significant wave heights up to and including 0.5 m may be experienced.

2.3.1 Safety Alerts

This manual uses the following safety alerts to draw your attention to special safety instructions that should be followed.

Denotes a hazard exists which can result in injury or death if proper precautions are not taken.

Denotes a reminder of safety practices or directs attention to unsafe practices, which could result in personal

injury, or damage to the craft or components.

2.3.2 Safety Considerations

Read this manual carefully. If you have any questions, contact your dealer. Safety and operating information that is

practiced along with using good common sense can help prevent personal injury and product damage.

WARNING

DO NOT OVERPOWER AND/OR OVERLOAD!

Overpowering and/or overloading can result in severe handling and/or stability problems.

WARNING

Do not operate your boat if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

DANGER

Whenoperating underpower,ALWAYSuse alanyard switchthat willstop theengine if,for anyreason, theoper-

ator leaves the control.

WARNING

When operating under power, make sure everyone is properly seated. Without passengers, weight should be

as far forward as practical. Rapid acceleration should be avoided to prevent the possibility of backward flip-

overs.

CAUTION

Be considerate of other boaters, swimmers as well as persons and property along the shore.

2.3.3 Safety Equipment

Required safety equipment may vary from country to country or region to region. Check with the local water authorities

for more information before using the boat.

CAUTION

Check regularly condition of the life jackets and make sure of the availability of flotation devices.

WARNING

Wear a life jacket when operating you boat. Children and non-swimmers should ALWAYS wear a life jacket.

Have personal flotation devices available immediately.

CAUTION

Be aware of the risk of fire if carrying flammable liquid such as petrol on board. Always have a fire extinguisher

at hand.

3. General Information

3.1 Drain Plug

The drain plug may be different from models. When opened, this drain plug allows water to drain out during storage. Be

sure that the drain plug is in place and tight before handling the boat.

3.2 Lights

Control the running lights for night operation.

3.3 Fuse/Circuit Breakers

The electric starting circuit is protected from overload by a fuse. If the fuse is blown, the electric circuit will not operate.

Locate and correct the cause of overload. If the cause is not found, the fuse may blow again. Replace the fuse with a fuse

of the same rating. In case you cannot locate the cause of overload have your boat inspected by the nearest dealer.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

4.1.1 Natural Aluminum Surfaces

An occasional rinse with clear water or mild detergent will keep the aluminum portions of your boat clean.

4.1.2 Painted aluminum Surfaces

The painted surfaces of your boat should not be cleaned except with clear water for several weeks when the boat is new

to allow the paint to cure properly. After curing, the finish may be protected by a liquid cleaner wax or automotive paste

wax. Harsh chemical cleaners or abrasives should never be used. When in doubt, test a small unnoticeable spot before

cleaning or waxing a large area. Always wash dirt off of a painted surface with clear water before rubbing with any cleaner

or wax.

WARNING

Cleaning agents and paints may be flammable, explosive or dangerous to inhale. Use paint only in well-venti-

lated conditions and wear safety clothes (glasses, gloves, etc.).

4.1.3 Salt Water Information

This hull is made of high quality 5052 marine aluminum recommended for salt water use. However, care must be taken

inbothsalt waterandfresh watertoavoid creating electrolyticaction.DO NOTplacesteel, brass,bronzeor copperfittings

in direct contact with the aluminium.

CAUTION

Under no conditions should a copper, lead, arsenic or mercury based antifouling paint be applied, either with

or without the use of a primer coat.

To prolong the beauty of your boat use fresh water to wash salt deposits off bare aluminum trim.
