DESCRIPTION
The INDS1-00S Leviton®Intercom Door Station with Camera is a PoE (Power over Ethernet)
device that allows streaming audio and video communications with other SIP compliant devices,
such as Leviton OmniTouch 7™ touchscreens. It features a configurable relay that can be used
to control a gate or an electric lock.
WIRING REQUIREMENTS
The INDS1-00S is an IEEE 802.3af compliant Power over Ethernet (PoE) Powered Device (PD).
The INDS1-00S receives its power over the same cable that connects the INDS1-00S to the
network, using a Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) device, such as a PoE network switch,
hub, or power injector which provides the power. Each INDS1-00S must be installed within 100
meters (328 feet) of a Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) device.
The INDS1-00S connects to a DHCP enabled network using a Cat-5 (4-pair) cable. Run the Cat-5
cable between the location of a PoE network switch, hub, or power injector and the location of the
INDS1-00S.
The maximum distance between the Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) device and the INDS1-00S
and is 100 meters (328 feet). Terminate both ends of the Cat-5 cable with 8-position modular
connectors to make a standard straight through network patch cable.
When switching voltage through the relay in the INDS1-00S, run a separate power cable from
a power supply to the INDS1-00S and a control cable from the relay on the INDS1-00S to an
electric lock or gate controller.
INSTALLATION
The INDS1-00S Leviton Intercom Door Station is designed to be installed into the provided metal
backbox.
When selecting a place to mount the INDS1-00S, be sure to avoid an area where studs, plumbing,
or electrical wiring may be located behind the wall. It should be mounted so that the display is
at or slightly below eye level.
Route the network cable, optional power cable, and optional control cable through the desired
knockout opening in the metal backbox. There are knockouts on the bottom, back, and lower
right and left side of the metal backbox.
Mount the metal backbox into the opening in the wall so that arrow is facing up. The metal
backbox should be mounted flush with the surface of the wall opening or slightly behind the
surface of the wall opening.

With the backbox securely mounted in the wall opening:
1) Screw the 3 supplied studs into the 3 respective standoffs on the metal backbox
(Figure 1).
2) Place the plastic backbox into the metal backbox so that the back of the plastic
backbox sits flush against the metal backbox (Figure 2).
3) Screw the 3 supplied nuts onto the 3 respective studs:
• If the metal backbox is flush with the surface of the wall opening, screw the nuts until they
touch the standoffs.
• If the metal backbox is slightly behind the surface of the wall opening, screw the nuts so
that they are slightly suspended on the stud. The nuts may need to be adjusted to achieve
the proper fit.
4) Insert the 8-position modular connector of the network cable into the RJ-45 connector on the
door station, through the cutout in the plastic backbox.
5) If used, connect the controlled device and/or power supply to the relay outputs marked
R-NO/R-NC and R-COM.

6) Place the door station on top of the metal backbox. While holding the door station in place,
screw the 4 supplied screws into the openings on the top and bottom of the door station
(Figure 3). Make sure the screws attach into the slots on the plastic backbox. Gently tighten
the screws until the door station is securely fastened to the backbox. Do not over tighten the
screws.
7) Insert the top and bottom overlays into the respective mounting holes until they snap in
