Introduction

Attention

Failure to follow these instructions could result in voiding your

warranty.

Relocating the Printer

How do I relocate my printer?

Occasionally, you may have to move your printer to a different location, either

nearby or to a distant location. To avoid damage to your printer, we advise

you to carefully follow the instructions below.

1Make sure you have turned off the printer and unplugged the power

supply cord and interface cable(s).

2Change the waste toner box (see “Preparing the Printer for Shipment” on

page 3).

3If the printer has accessories, such as a duplex unit kit or lower feeder

unit(s), remove them (see “Preparing the Printer for Shipment” on page

3).

1Make sure you have turned off the printer and unplugged the power cord

and interface cable(s)

2Remove the media from all media trays.

3Open the printer’s right side door.

Attention

Do not touch the wire harness or

connectors on the inside of the

4Lower the two

fuser levers to

release the

spring pressure

from the fuser

6Protect the printer from extremes in temperature and humidity, and from

dust.

How do I care for media?

If media has been removed from its wrapper, place it in its original packaging

and store it in a cool, dark place.

When storing media, avoid:

Moisture and excess humidity

Keep media between 30% to 65% relative humidity. Toner does not

adhere well to moist or wet paper. On the other hand, media that has

been stored for a long time out of its packaging may dry up too much and

cause jamming.

Direct sunlight

Excess heat (above 86 °F/30 °C)

Dust

Leaning it against other objects or placing it in an upright position
