IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Please read this user manual carefully before using your appliance to

ensure proper use and maintenance.

1. This appliance is intended for domestic use; to be used in a

household or similar applications such as

 a.Staffkitchenareasinshops,ofcesandotherworking

environments;

b. By clients in hotels, motels and other residential type

environments;

c. Bed and breakfast type environments.

2. Do not operate the unit with a damaged cord or plug, after it

malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any way.

3. Allelectricalrepairsmustbecarriedoutbyaqualied

electrician. Inadequate repairs may result in a major source

of danger for the user and invalidate the warranty.

4. Make sure the voltage in your home corresponds to the

one shown on the rating label of the appliance.

5. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years

and above if they have been given supervision or

instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and

understand the hazards involved.

6. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children

7. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged

less than 8 years.

8. Children shall not play with the appliance.

9. This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical,

sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and

knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction

concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the

hazards involved.

10. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter

or touch a hot surface.

11. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or aheated

oven.

12. Do not operate the appliance without water to avoid

damaging the heat elements.

13. Ensurethatthekettleisplacedonalevelandatsurfaceoutof

reach of children, to prevent the kettle from overturning and to

avoid damage or injury.

14. Toprotectagainstare,electricshockorpersonalinjury,do

not immerse cord, electric plugs or kettle in water or other

liquids.

15. While water is boiling, or just after the water has boiled, avoid

contact with steam from the spout.

16. Always take care to pour boiling water slowly and carefully

 withouttippingthekettletoofast.Becarefulwhenrellingthe

kettle when it is hot.

17. Do not touch the hot surface. Use the handle or the button.

18. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance

containing hot water.

19. The use of accessories, which are not recommended by the

 manufacturer,mayresultinre,electricshockorpersonalinjury.

20. Unplug the appliance from the wall socket when not in use and

before cleaning.Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning.

21. Do not use the appliance or the attached base for anything

other than its intended use, which is to boil water.

22. The kettle can only be used with the stand provided.

23. Ifthekettleisoverlled,boilingwatermayspillout.

24. Always ensure the lid is closed and do not lift it while the

wateris boiling. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during

the boiling cycle.

25. Do not use the appliance near facilities containing water, such as

bath tubs, showers or wash basins.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Before using your kettle

Ifyouareusingthekettleforthersttime,itisrecommendedthatyoucleantheinsidebeforeuse.This

canbedonebyllingthekettlewithwatertomaximumcapacity,boilingthekettleandthendiscarding

the boiled water down the sink.Wipe the surface with damp cloth.

Note: The max capacity of a kettle is 1.7L

Using your kettle

• Placethekettleonaat,levelsurface.

• Tollthekettle,removeitfromthepowerbaseandopenthelidbypressingthelidreleasebutton,

 illwiththedesiredamountofwater,andthenclosethelid.Alternatively,thekettlemaybelled

through the spout.The water level should not exceed MAX mark or sit below MIN level.Too little

water will cause the kettle to switch off before the water has boiled.

Note:Donotllthewateroverthemaximumlevel,aswatermayspilloutofthespoutwhenboiling.

• Beforeclosingthelid,checkthattheremovablelterissecurelyinplace.

• Closethelid,ensuringthatthelidisrmlyinplace.

• Position the kettle back onto the power base.

• Connect the plug into a wall socket. Press down the On/Off led indicator switch and the switch

will light up.

• Then the kettle will start to boil the water, once the water has boiled the On/Off switch will turn

off automatically.

• You can turn the kettle off at any time during the boiling process by lifting the On/Off switch. If you

want to boil water again, press down the On/Off switch to restart the kettle.

Note: EnsurethattheOn/Offswitchisfreefromobstructionandthelidisrmlyclosed,thekettlewill

not turn off if the switch is constrained or if the lid is open.

• Lift the kettle from the power base and then pour the water.

Note: Take extreme care when pouring the water from your kettle as boiling water may result in

severe burns. Do not open the lid while the water in the kettle is hot.

• The kettle will not re-boil until the On/Off switch is pressed down again.The kettle may be stored

on the power base when not in use.

Note: Always disconnect from the wall socket when not use.

Boil Dry Protection

Should you accidentally operate the kettle without water; the boil-dry protection will automatically

switchoffthepower.Ifthisoccurs,allowthekettletocoolbeforellingwithcoldwatertore-boil.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Always disconnect the appliance from the wall socket and allow it to cool down completely before

cleaning.

• Never immerse the kettle, power cord or power base in water, or allow moisture to contact

with these parts.

• To clean the exterior, wipe with a soft damp cloth and then dry thoroughly with a soft dry cloth.

• Remembertoregularlycleanthelter.Foreasiercleaning,detachthelter,cleanwithsoapywater,

rinse, dry and then replace.

• Clean the base using a clean, dry cloth

CAUTION: Do not use chemical, steel, wooden or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle

topreventdamagetothenish.

Descaling

Your kettle should be descaled regularly to prevent a build-up of limescale in the interior, as this may

causethekettletooperatelessefciently.Youcanuseanyhouseholddescalerandfollowtheinstructions

on the packaging.

MAINS PLUG FUSE REPLACEMENT Fuse Cover

Fuse Replacement (Class I)

This appliance must be eathed. Remove the fuse cover with a small

atheadscrewdriver.Takeoutthefuseandreplacewithanewfuse

of the same Amp. Replace the fuse cover and push back into place.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

The European Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and

Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household

electrical appliances must not be disposed of in normal unsorted

municipal waste.

Old appliances must be collected separately in order to optimise

the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain and reduce the impact

on human health and the environment.

The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your

obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance it must be separately collected.

Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for information

concerning the correct disposal of their old appliance.

lgenix Warranty Terms & Conditions

This product is guaranteed for a period of 12 months as standard from the date of purchase

against mechanical and electrical defects.You can extend your warranty for a further 12 months by

registering your product.

Upon registration we will cover your product for a period of 24 months from the original purchase

date against any mechanical or electrical defects.

To qualify for the guarantee, the product must be used for domestic household use only and in

accordance with the instructions in the user manual.Any misuse of the product will result in the

warranty being void.

The guarantee does not cover accidental damage, misuse, neglect, tampering or incorrect

adjustment or installation.

The guarantee will be rendered invalid if the product is resold, has had its serial number removed

(or has an invalid serial number), or if an unauthorised person has carried out any repairs or

alterations.

The warranty does not cover accessories or consumable parts that require replacement under

normaluse.Thisincludesshelving,dials,lters,beltsandtraysetc.

In the unlikely event of a breakdown please refer to the Troubleshooting guide in your user manual

and check all plugs, fuses and the electricity supply.

If an item is replaced within the agreed guarantee period, the guarantee for the replacement item

will be calculated from the purchase date of the original.

In the event that the product is inspected and no fault is found or the product is not within the

guarantee period you will be charged for the repair and any carriage costs.
