IHP150 INTEGRATED HEAT PUMPS
Please remove all packing materials, MOST IMPORTANTLY those
inside the air-discharge outlet at the top of the unit, prior to
commissioning.
Cold air-discharge ducting (if used or required) should not exceed
2m in total length without an additional extract fan.

PREFACE
-This manual includes all of the necessary information related
to installation, operation and maintenance of your Hydra
Therm Integrated Heat Pump (“The Product”). Please read
this manual carefully before attempting to install and
operate this product.
-All plumbing installations must comply with the current
specifications of SANS10254 and local by-laws and must be
performed by a qualified and appropriately licensed plumber.
-All electrical installations must comply with the current
specifications of SANS10142-1 and local by-laws and where
relevant must be performed by a qualified and appropriately
licensed electrician.
-Neither HydraTherm (Pty) Ltd nor its authorized distributors
or resellers will be held liable in the event of damage to
property, injury or death as a result of failure to comply with
the regulations for the plumbing and electrical installation of
this product as stipulated by law and/or as printed in this
manual.
-Installers should explain to the end-users the relevant
operating procedures for the Integrated Heat Pump and

procedures to be followed in the event of failure or
maintenance being required.
-Operating manuals are updated from time to time and this
will be done without notice to existing customers. If you
require an updated manual or a copy in event of the loss of
the original, please contact Hydra Therm or your authorized
reseller.
-Failure to adhere to any guideline or instruction in this
manual may void any warranty that is express or implied by
law or otherwise.
PRECAUTIONS FOR END-USERS AND INSTALLERS
1. This product must be installed in a suitably ventilated room
or space and should be protected from rain and other
elements.
2. The unit should be installed on a flat, solid surface of suitable
design and structure to support the weight of the
components and the water contained in the tank. This unit
MUST be installed in the VERTICAL or UPRIGHT orientation.

3. Power to the auxiliary heating element should be provided by
a dedicated circuit breaker on the electrical distribution
board.
4. Immediately isolate power in the event of detection of excess
noise emission or the smell of refrigerant or chemicals or
burning components.
5. Never attempt to repair or maintain the unit yourself, always
appoint a qualified and manufacturer-approved contractor.
6. Never paint or spray flammable aerosols or corrosion
inhibitors onto or near the product.
7. Shut-off the heat pump in the event of ambient temperatures
below zero degrees Celsius or above 43 degrees Celsius. You
may activate the auxiliary heating element during
environmental conditions envisaged above.
8. Do not allow children under 12 years to adjust or operate the
product.
9. Never touch or tamper with the electrical or plumbing devices
connected to the product. Serious injury or death can occur
due to component failure as a result of tampering.

10. The recommended set-point
temperature of the product is not
more than 55 degrees Celsius for
both the heat pump and auxiliary
heating element* (*if used).
Beware: hot water can cause
permanent physical harm.
11. Always test the temperature at the point of use before
exposing your entire body to the hot water.
WARNING –MOVING PARTS AND ELECTRIC SHOCK
When operating, this product has moving parts in the form of a
vortex fan assembly. Never attempt to maintain or operate the
unit when the safety covers are removed. Do not insert fingers,
hair or any objects into the fan grille.

You are also at risk of electric shock in the event of the product
operating with the safety covers/panels removed.
